Did I ever tell you about my trip to Monument Valley ? Its located on the border of Southern Utah & Northern Arizona you know. Well I stayed in Goulding's Lodge, not really much of anywhere else to stay within quite a few miles, anyway it was the 4th July and to my amazement the Navajo did have a small fireworks display. Good old fashioned commercialism I suppose, given the way they have been treated by the good ole US of A I suspect they didn't have much heart in it.

Anyway I rented out "She Wore a Yella Ribbon" after dinner because they don't sell firewater on the Reservation much as was well prepped & brought my own.

I suppose most of you know the rest by now ............... up at 5 am magnificent sunrise on the red standstone, out and about to take it in before the rattlers had sought the cool of their burrows for the day.
