Can Big Nick play for Ireland?

Post by UlsterNo9 »

In theory, not saying hes good enough but he was at Munster for a couple of seasons, back playing here..... Does he have to be resident of for rugby purposes "Ireland" for three years consecutive or combined? Couldn't find the law anywhere.

The Lions? :stir:

Cheers in advance.

Don’t think you can qualify on the basis of residency in instalments........

unless the Credit Union have taken over the IRB

To answer the theoretical question of the OP:

No!
1) residence must be 3 consecutive years
and
2) Fat Nick played for Junior All Blacks against national representative teams.

It would be great news if Mr Nick Williams could join Ireland give our resident No 8's a well earned break.

Chuck Norris gave Fat Nick his dinner.
