Fabulous!

Almost as funny as Micky Bradley still trying to put a positive spin on things...
"At this stage you won't be saying 'no' to qualifying for the quarter-finals, if we win the last four games and get four bonus points and scrape in as the number eight qualifier, which is very unlikely.

"Losing your first two games and getting no points is a recipe for being out of the competition. You have to acknowledge that.
If only his team were as positive....

I see no reason why we shouldn't be aiming to head to the Scarlets unbeaten. Away to Treviso will be tricky but they'll be BADLY stripped of players due to the AI's and i think our increased depth will prove decisive in sneaking it.

That would be a reasonable aim. Also Wales play NZ the weekend we play them don't they? So we would have an advantage if they are missing North et al.

Hasn't been great for the Scots has it? Played 4 lost 4.

An analysis of the first 2 rounds of the HC makes for interesting reading

Top 14 10/14 71%
Premiership 7/12 58%
Rabo 7/22 32%

That thing about no relegation is working well this year then

This looks better

Ireland 6/8 75%
France 10/14 71%
England 7/12 58%
Wales 1/5 17%
Italy 0/4 0%
Scotland 0/4 0%

No no, its having to compete for HEC qualification in the league which makes them "battle-hardened". :duh:

I think Merv is on to something here.
I believe that we are the only home nation team who has shown any signs of strengthening or progression since last season.
Every other side seems to have gone backwards in terms of squad strength and game strategem.
The HEC has confirmed this for me having sat through dire uninspiring rugby on the most part from the non French teams, especially in the back division where we havent exactly sparkled ourselves.
This was on the back of watching the ABS and the Aussies that morning where once again it appears they are miles ahead of the home nations.
Only Saracens and Quins have really caught the eye, the Connacht back line seems quite incisive and the Exeter full back was excellent that I saw.
I think our undefeated streak is as much about the detriment of other sides as much as the significant progress we have made.

Small typo!1/6

Still crap either way

On a more serious note, the Scots/Welsh capitulation in the HC will make competing on 2 fronts that bit harder for Ulster.

Far be it from me to speak for the good captain, but I suspect he would have rounded rather than truncated!

Might he have employed the vinculum?

Well he is fairly rounded and rarely truncates anything....................
