Morning, I went up to the Dub on Sunday to walk the dog and came across a very entertaining game between Harlequin Ladies and Queens University, very good game and a reasonable sized crowd, well done the ladies from Queens on their win, it's just a pity that The Ulster Rugby website has no women's rugby up dates and their site still has not been updated since 2009.they appear to be ignored totally or have the ladies got their own website?

I have since had a look at the other Provinces websites and they appear to be more organised and Leinster in particular are really proud of their women, I believe i read somewhere that the new chief executive spoke about increasing the player base of club players in Ulster, was this only for men and have the women who love the game been ignored. I have seen coverage on thefru website but apart from that very little even in the local papers.

Lady P why do you raise these questions on this site - would you not be more likely to get an answer with a direct approach to the Branch?

Oh and I had a quick look at the Womens section on the branch site myself. Some pages have been updated in 2012, some in 2011 and some as far back as 2009.

On one page there were the contact details for the Womens development officer - I've copied them here to save you any trouble. Perhaps she would be a good point to start your enquiries.

Oh, and while we're on the subject. Which club did you decide to join? Is there a chance we might see you in action soon?

lady P, glad you enjoyed the game. And you're right the FRU is far superior in their coverage compared to the branch's own site which is poor to say the least. You witnessed 3-4 potential Irish international players on Sunday, and probably nearer 10 of the Ulster squad. It was a good advert for the game. Queen's have just started a 2nd XV or 'development side for girls wanting to get more experience and learn the game, might be a good fit for you if you are stil interested in training yourself?

They are playing Ards this weekend at the Dub around 12 ish if you are keen to watch?

Silly me I didn't see the news from July  I was looking more for something about games etc more recent , by the way I tried Malone but they all seemed a bit young, I felt like an old mother hen. Thanks for the help pwrmoore , but why not raise some questions on this site as I don't know where else to unless your saying to me, it's only for men !

This site is for everyone!

But if you want the branch to get off their collective ass and do something then asking them directly is more likely to get a response from them. Here you will find sympathy but I'm not sure anyone is in a position to act. Did you try Joy yet?

She's the rugby development officer. I doubt that she runs the website. But if she is responsible for development of womens rugby she ought to see that having a user friendly, up-to-date website could help her in her real job. Where I work if someone contacts me about something that is not my direct responsibility I usually try to put them in touch with the right person and if something is undermining the work I'm trying to do then I try to get whoever is responsible to fix it.

Sounds like a great place to work! Where I work, we spend all day denying responsibility, passing the buck, and blaming the guys in the other building.

Any one going over to Queens today to watch Ulster Ladies play Munster, Munster Ladies won the Under 19 interpros, Ulster I assume came last as they did not put a team in. Mr Elephant I played rugby for my town and really enjoyed it but I would now like another challenge. I tried Malone but they were so young I felt like a grandmother.
