Post by damianmcr »

From the prom it didnt look good at all.

I heard maybe he hyper extended it.

Anyone shed any light?

They will have little idea at the moment until he gets scan- worse case scenario could be his season over.

The fact they took so many precautions and splinted the leg looked to me like a suspected broken leg.
Which although bad would not necessarily end his season.

Totally gutted for him if it is a bad one.

From where I was standing as soon as the incident happened he was waving to the medics for help....looks to me like a broken leg :banghead: :(
You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Ruaidhri O'Connor of the Irish Indo tweeted that MA said it was knee ligaments and they should find out the full extent of the damage tomorrow

I've heard it could be broken, damaged ligaments or hyper extended. Either way, he'll miss the rest of our HEC groups, and probably won't make the 6N.

If he is out for the season it'll be a real problem for him to stake a claim for th Lions....

I'd be nearly 100% certain from looking at it a couple of times he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament.

Judging from a text from one of the squad, they don't seem to think it's broken. I thought that at first too, but watching it back on TV, it looks like ligaments (which, depending on severity, could be worse)

Dan Tuohy damaged his calf muscle in the last scrum as well.

What a disastrous game.

Wow, X ray vision - are you related to Superman?

Honestly though, how can you tell anything like that from watching it back??

Best to wait until we get official word instead of ridiculous speculation like this IMHO.

Must add, I'm more gutted about whatever has happened to Tommy than I am about the result tonight.

Yeah, its not a break.

The pain seemed to go away quite quickly after the incident, and within a few minutes he looked comfortable enough lying on the floor. That sort of suggests a ligament is completely torn.
