What the fu*k does "deletirious" mean?
Re: Darcy???
Think it describes the unnecessary use of large words by Brian Moore in an attempt to increase intoxication of viewers.brianc wrote:What the fu*k does "deletirious" mean?

I just don't understand why some of you want to move BOD to 12 when he is possibly the best 13 in Europe still. Much as I would like to see Darren Cave there as well, I can't see DK doing that. I think McFadden is the best option against Downey(too slow), McSharry (too green), Marshall (injured), Paddy Wallace (on holiday) - no, wait………anyone got a phone??????

Re: Darcy???
A bit of sanity. I was beginning to wonder whether I had watched the same game as some on Saturday. Why on earth would anyone want to move O'Driscoll from 13?!rocky wrote:I just don't understand why some of you want to move BOD to 12 when he is possibly the best 13 in Europe still. BOD is a 13, has always been a 13 and will always be one. Moving him to accomodate DC is not a good idea IMO. Cave's time will come when BOD retires...at least it will if Ireland don't win the GS and Kidney doesn't get a new 2 year contract...

Re: Darcy???
If Darcy is out, DK will move Sexton to centre and bring in ROG at 10. You heard it here first!
Re: Darcy???
From the IRFU website. "Keith Earls, meanwhile, hurt his shoulder late in the game and underwent a scan upon the squad's return to Dublin and will see a specialist later this week."
It looks as if DK is going to have to re-think his whole 3/4 line strategy. (Perhaps a slight exaggeration.)

If Earls is injured there is nothing to be done but postpone the game.

Re: Darcy???
Short memories from quite a few, Kidney has always been fan of Paddy Wallace, he was partnered with BOD when they won the nippers WRC and in 2009 Paddy was selected on merit for the first 3 games of the Grand Slam. He played most of those games with a clout around his bonce which kept getting blattered, at one stage he resembled "The Mummy".Injury saw him off, D'Arcy got back in and then Paddy was sub until that fateful moment when he nearly sold the farm with a last minute penalty in Cardiff, harshly adjudicated in my opinion though it was.Shan wrote:You should have stopped after number 2 mate. Paddy Wallace has a central contract. Sometimes the better player is selected simply for that reason. Wallace has always been a good player, was treated poorly by EOS in particularly existing in a darkened waiting room for Ireland as a "just in case emergency prop" but is not and never was a better international option than Darcy.....he was a valiant and able replacement as we saw in 2009.

very good Jackie made my morning. I believe when Ireland played the "miss Darcy" move they played rather well to be honest.

FFS LastKnight, stick to your guns man, "deletirious" is a splendid word, beloved of my grandfather in the late 50's/early 60's. Don't let the peasants with their undoubted love to textspeak & suchlike put you off your stroke. Next thing the will say you have "gotten" too big for your wellies.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:brianc wrote:What the fu*k does "deletirious" mean?
Ok boys "bad"!
Speak up for the fulsome use of Her Britannic Madge's language. Fack the facking fackers of peasant stock.

Anyway, appears Master D'Arcy will probably be fit whereas Keet may not be. Shuffling the thread, who now for the bench?
For Kiddinya selections I always think of who I would least like to see selected and think that is what Feckie will do. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Luke Fitzfackingerald.

Short memories indeed Baggy although you have sneakily managed not to type anything which is factually inaccurate ya fecking langball ya .BaggyTrousers wrote:

In 2008 on the tour to NZ Darcy was not available through injury and DK turned to Luke Fitz to cover the 12 berth. Then a few days before the game he also cried off with injury and Paddy was promoted from the dark cellar to starting 12. DK, it seems, thought that Fitz was a better option at 12.....or wanted to continue with the locking up of Paddy in the punishment room despite his previous exploits with him and despite the fact Wallace was in top form at that stage. Strange but true all the same.
Now though Paddy stepped up when given his opportunity and played extremely well on that tour thus allowing Kidney to see that he was a genuine option in the absence of Darcy. He retained his place in the 2009 6N as Darcy was only just returning and was not ready to be sent into battle from the start....and to be fair because Paddy had proven his value thus allowing Kidney the latitude of selecting him without having to worry....something which is less of / not an option today at 12.
Paddy was excellent in the games he played in that 6N and I have no desire to deny that or to denigrate him at all. However it was a relief when Darcy returned as no matter how well Paddy played there was a concern for him because of the physical toll. Unfortunately it all proved that Paddy is a fine player at 12 but is not a genuine alternative to Darcy in a long term context because of the physical limitations......and nowadays he's not really an option at all.

Re: Darcy???
That all gels with my memory of events Shan and to be honest I'm more than happy for Paddy to play out the remainder of his central contract exclusively for Ulster.

Re: Darcy???
I must've been watching different Ireland games than some posters on here. Darcy has been awful for Ireland for the last 5 or 6 years. His continual selection for the last 3 years has been a joke.
Re: Darcy???
Indeed. He was utter rubbish on Saturday as well. So bad that it took him going off to straighten out our faltering midfield defence which had already conceded 6 tries but then conceded not a single score thereafter....while at the same time we remained scoreless while he was on the pitch and then just could not stop scoring for fun in his absence such was the attacking spark added to our backline following his timely departure.Bellyups wrote:I must've been watching different Ireland games than some posters on here. Not only should he never be selected for Ireland again but he probably should be on trial for crimes against the noble game of rugby union.
I watched a game on Saturday. Have I painted an accurate picture or was I watching a different game to Wales v Ireland?
