Certain about this.
He signed for another 2 years but had a year remaining at the time which is confusing some people, he is signed to June 2015
Take yer auld beagle to the vet !

Burning is too good for him ... stone him first ... then burn him or even stone him again.

You wouldn't be suggesting that we might, in fact, have built a squad to a peak and so-far failed to capitalise on the fact?

I think that's taken as a given.

The scale of how far back we slide is what worries me.

Regardless of Pienaar's age, I'm still pretty sure it was a "special allowance" that Pienaar was allowed to stay on with his last contract that at the time I seem to recall would be his last, and after it expired he would not be allowed to stay on. Maybe something along the lines of not allowed re-sign foreign players in the one position after a certain amount of time, regardless of other provinces resources (be it current internationals or British & Irish Lions).

On that basis I'm surprised Ulster fans are surprised if he's in talks with clubs abroad.
I have it on good authority that RP's extension has been approved and waiting for him when he arrives next week. Lets see what happens

You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Turnaround in Pienaar file?..................

While the arrival of Ruan Pienaar seemed well on track for the next season, the South African scrum-half could ultimately not join Toulon. Indeed, La Provence tells us in its edition today that the coming of the Springboks, yet virtually confirmed by Bernard Laporte recently is no longer valid.

However, the regional newspaper indicates that the Welsh international back Leigh Halfpenny is still in the viewfinder of Toulon leaders.

I fully expect the great one (not Kofi) to remain an Ulster player. Wouldn't be surprised to hear an announcement this week.
