I'm not sure that is the right decision, surely we should be going for a try given it can be a tiebreaker.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

OK lads,
Ulster's best result ever? Or best result on the road?
WONDERFUL. I'm sure the travelling fans will have one heck of a night in Montpellier, one of my favourite French cities!

I'll admit it I for one thought we would get physically manhandled, but huge credit to the forwards and the whole team for what we did today, just outstanding.Neil F wrote:Anyone who gets worried before Ulster games in this competition... I hope this helps you all get a grip!
Re: Montpellier v Ulster live.
superb performance. There'll be talk after about the ref but for large chunks of that game Montpellier were in a position to turn the screw and Ulster didn't let them. very impressive and a pat on the back for the coaching team, the tactics today were spot on.
Not quite at the level of Northampton last year in terms of fluidity but perhaps a better result going forward.

Great result, everyone who took the pitch with the
take a bow, special mention to the coaches who got the gameplan right
and yes Henderson did make a huge impact of the bench....yet again Rory Best MOTM for me.

I wanna be in Montpellier!!! Think all the fans will have a special night. They were Ulster's 16th man
A professional, clinical performance by a confident, well-organised team.
And PJ's try-saving tackle is the moment of the season so far![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Montpellier v Ulster live.
Well, what a result for Ulster!
Tactically, we had it exactly right against Montpellier. We bombarded them with the high ball and put serious pressure on them with defence, forcing them to make hasty and panicky decisions.
A great day in which we bossed the French with a wily edge.

Re: Montpellier v Ulster live.
Not really bothered with comparisons about the Northampton game, would rather win games with good tactics early on so we can set ourselves up to 'peak' at the right times and play fluid rugby when it matters rather than burn out after january/february, our problem last year. Judging by that performance and the room for improvement we could be in for a big season.
Mark Anscombe - credit where its due, tactically brilliant today.
