"Cheapshot"
Owen Farrell really is an @rse! Just like Stefan Armitage before him, he's a liability and should have seen yellow.
Watching the reaction of the England players and coach at the end shows just how much this win means - car park walk and stiff upper lip my back side - but they know they got out of jail on this one!
Well done England, a great game

That's all well and good as long as we condemn our players when they do similar.Stan d'Up wrote:Owen Farrell really is an @rse! Just like Stefan Armitage before him, he's a liability and should have seen yellow.

You are mixing Steffon Armitage up with his brother.
I don't understand how they got out of jail. They were the better team and brought more intensity to the game. They did to us what we did to Wales.

The worst thing is Woodward amd the others in the studio try and justify his behaviour

Re: "Cheapshot"
Precious or not it was a yellow card non-tackle. My suspicion was that he got away with it because it was the first minute of the game. With us being told that refs like to make an early statement, what better than a yellow to make one.
What galls me is that when he was admonished for no arms, he said I tried. Now being a count is one thing, being a lying count a whole different matter.
Now if that is deemed precious I'd invite you to gofuckyourself.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

So Michael Allen should have seen yellow in our last match?Russ wrote:Late and no arms ...BR wrote:Not a yellow imho

(actually, when it happened, even before the play was brought back, I thought he might although I would have thought it harsh)

I don't remember the Alan incident. But if he did what Farrell did then yes. YellowCap'n Grumpy wrote:So Michael Allen should have seen yellow in our last match?Russ wrote:Late and no arms ...BR wrote:Not a yellow imho

Re:
I think there are degrees of "foul play", and in my opinion, Nigel did get it right at the time - awarded the penalty agin him, but no yellow. Farrel's was a different level though AND it was late, but I don't see EVERY no-arms-tackle as yellow, but maybe the laws say differently? What would I know?Russ wrote:I don't remember the Alan incident. But if he did what Farrell did then yes. Re: "Cheapshot"
He was penalised BECAUSE he failed to use his arms. He was penalised FOR a late tackle (IIRC). I think it was described as - "your timing was off.". The impression I got was that the ref may have looked on the timing issue more favourably had the 'tackle' been executed correctly. Certainly we've seen later tackles waived on.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:I think there are degrees of "foul play", and in my opinion, Nigel did get it right at the time - awarded the penalty agin him, but no yellow.
