Were we told somewhere back along the line that if Irelands bid to host the IRB world cup was successful Bob the builder would be back at Ravenhill to fill in the corners.

Don't remember being told that by anyone. IIRC it was purely a suggestion.cardoc wrote:Were we told somewhere back along the line that if Irelands bid to host the IRB world cup was successful Bob the builder would be back at Ravenhill to fill in the corners.

Ireland could also hand out favours for choice of training base so if you didn't vote for Ireland, you have a choice of Larne or Lurgan.Russ wrote:You know the Welsh vote is meaningless
It did mean something
But ARU
NZRU
SARU
SRU
IRFU
RFU
all back the Irish vote. It's sewn up ( when we pay wm euroes to saru)

That's exactly what will happen. Capacity will be raised to 26,000.cardoc wrote:Were we told somewhere back along the line that if Irelands bid to host the IRB world cup was successful Bob the builder would be back at Ravenhill to fill in the corners.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

26K So ,if going by this years format we will get a lower tier game, whoopy woooooo. Well that's assuming we want to have a far better tournament than 2019 . Was the last World Cup game here japan, against Rhodesia or something like that

So really all today was about is it is now official, thought that was already known ? As Kofi says training facility and stadiums are the biggest hold back in the success of this, if Italy pull their fingers out they should be hard to beat venue wise at least as long as they get their footy teams to co operatemikerob wrote:Official bid statement. Strange decision to launch in a school in Armagh
Surely Titanic building or one of the custom houses etc would have more iconic

Armagh's the centre of most of the north-south secretariat.
Not a sensible reason, but nonetheless, that was the reason.
