Re: Meet place for those staying in NICE Friday 16th Jan
I have a few ideas floating about.
I was thinking of maybe going to a bar or something. Do you think there'd be any interest?
Are you on the URSC bus?

Ah some culture, just what I had hoped for.
Not on bus, I am staying in Nice on Thursday night then getting train to Toulon Friday morning back Sunday morning.

Been in Ma Nolans before and its handy for where I'm staying. Alright I suppose if typical Irish bar abroad is what your looking for but I'll not be drinking too much there as it certainly wasn't cheapest venue and give me traditional wee French bars/restaurants any day of the week for both eating and drinking. But handy enough to meet there on Friday between say noon and 1pm to see who all has safely arrived before deciding on somewhere else. And if I miss you all then I'll hopefully see some of you on the 11.04am train (Nice to Toulon) on Saturday morning.

Flat Top is an excellent man for vanguarding, provided he doesn't get way laid by a groups of young hoodlumsBR wrote:You're the vanguard. Drop us a message when the beachhead has been secured.Flat-top wrote:...getting train to Toulon Friday morning ....

For cheap and cheerful food and drink I'll be returning to Lou Pilha Leva at 10 Rue du Collet.

And for those who cant make Ma Nolans between 12noon and 1pm on Friday 16th then we should maybe have say a 6pm fall back option at Wayne's Bar (15, Rue de La Prefecture) mentioned by Surrey at start of this thread. Hopefully 6pm is middle of a happy hour (or 2) but I cant seem to see happy hour times confirmed anywhere. Discuss and ponder.

Last time I saw Flat-top he was more likely to be van-jacking!Russ wrote:Flat Top is an excellent man for vanguarding, provided he doesn't get way laid by a groups of young hoodlumsBR wrote:You're the vanguard. I assume his taxi arrived narrowly before he had to resort to that.

Looks like it's going to be pishing down! May somewhat limit our options for cultural activities.BR wrote:I have a few ideas floating about.

Well for the thirsty (and lonely) amongst us intrepid travellers it looks like 2pm approx. at Old Town Ma Nolans and then regrouping about 6pm at Waynes Bar. Discuss.
