We were too far ahead and defence was pretty sound so they took him off to make a bit of space in the centre for Treviso to run through and give them a chance to winCornerfleg wrote:Omnishyte... Just finished watching... There is little more to say other than...

I prefer when players are subbed for a reason... injured, not playing well or to change something etc. yet in the case of Payne it seemed little more than a sub for sub sake.
It may not have been Caves best game but there were plenty of others around him under power.. Payne to 15 with Ludik to 14 may have offered something different but then again we didn't need to change the game.
The reaction of Payne/Cave suggests they don't share too many lattes...

I have a house just south of Lisburn.
There are 3 spare bedrooms
Offering one to Mike Ruddock if he thinks 10 miles is close enough to Lisburn

Cave definitely blanked Payne when he ran past him to go off.Cockatrice wrote:

Yes I am glad we are going, Junior and I have travelled to most of the European away matches over the last 10 years. Winning, loosing, playing good or in many cases playing sh1t we were there SUPPORTING the team. Thats what supporters do.Pablo wrote:Bet you all wish you were going to Toulon next Friday ! . Re: Benetton Treviso v Ulster Sun 2pm UK Time BBCNI
The panic started to set in shortly after the Ulster third try. Cave threw two passes to no one in particular and caused a lot of scrambling defence, he also threw a silly pass to Best who was duly pinged for not releasing with no support. Then he missed a crucial tackle in the build up to their first try. Someone of his age and experience should have shown a bit of composure rather than frenetic impatience to secure the bonus before the break.Setanta wrote:Just seen Flyhalf's post and don't understand why Cave is included in his headless chickens. Cave was not on the pitch when they scored tries two and three!

Just watched the match.
Total crap.
What sort of incentive is there to go to the next home game to watch schoolboy tactics being badly played by professional rugby players.!!!!!!!!!!!
Now feel like season ticket this year has been a rip off!!!!!!!!!
So frustrating-- why am I an ardent supporter talking about my team like this.
Why is nothing being done or appear to be done to correct the position. Is there no one in the changing room who were so disappointed with the cowboy going to put their head over the parapet before the debacle of this season takes us 3 seasons to recover from.

I put my head above the parapet defending MA and got well and truely shot at by all comers
Guess anyone in the changing room would be finding themselves a new employer if they did the same.
I feel your pain.

Anscombe is not missed and will not be missed. The biggest challenge we face this year aside from the injuries is the leadership vacuum left by Johann who is missed beyond measure. So that's enough of that pro-Anscombe codswallop.
The same issues raised their heads again today as we ran out of puff. We have serious form when it comes to second half capitulation. As soon as Treviso started to run at us, we seemed to panic. Rory folded visibly under the pressure and although he had played manfully all game, he was too involved in his own game to fulfil the leadership roll.
