Its just dawned on me why we haven't won much since then.
Was that the point of the thread?

1 Kempson - The Rev ... The feckin Man ...
2 Best - Speaks for himself (Sexton was superb as well)
3 Herbst - First debateable selection I think he is the real deal and wants to play for the shirt.
4 Muller - First name on the sheet, Greatest Ulsterman never to come from Ulster
5 Touhy - We always play better when Touhy is on form, The plank was a plank.
6 Fez - Hendo is the Future, Bros was class - But Fez was the best 6 I've ever watched and I include Elsom and Richard Hill
7 McMillan - Next debateable selection, tough on Chad (and McComish) but for me, Neil was the best 7 we've had since Carr
8 P3 - Hard as feck

9 St P - Arguably the best player I've ever seen at Ulster and I include Gibson, Carr, Ringland, Patterson & WJMcB.
10 Humph - Most of his life he played with 9s who waited for the ball to hatch and he was still brilliant, imagine him with St P!
11 AAT - Tough on Tbone, but the last few years AAT has been the form winger in Europe
12 Stienmetz - Tough on Paddy Wallace, but Stieny very very rarely made any brain farts, a joy to watch.
13 Cave - Like Touhy we play best when he's there ... despite a silly haircut and a dodgy agency Constable was great to watch.
14 Bowe - Offers more than just a winger
15 Payne - Yes Jared, you are a full back and a damned good one.

Now for the Team they should play...

1 Moore - Busted Sofa, The only man fit to wear Big Joe's shirt.
2 Kershaw - The man who never was
3 Deccie - He's got at least 36 minutes in the tank
4 Frost - Ganja man
5 Raaymaker - World hide and seek champion 2014/15
6 McComish - Maybe out of position but who would know
7 Pfister - Uber dung
8 Webb - Voted most popular player in the dressing room by Webb in 2010

9 p - Nuff said.
10 NOC - Tough on McKinney, but NOC just shades it
11 Young - Bless we Scotty he tried, nice guy
12 Dewey - Maybe he was injured, but he just pips Maggs as a jaw dropping WTF?
13 Andrew - Tough on Bart but just shades it.
14 Ghostie - Fast as shyte off a shovel, played like it as well
15 Shitkoski - Williams told us he could be better than Mason ... Williams it appears talked through his hoop.
Always ask yourself, "What would Big Rodney do"... And every time the answer is... "Eat It"

And the Celtic Cup Winners were:

Ulster: Wallace; Topping (Larkin, 58), Stewart, Steinmetz, Howe; Humphreys, Doak; Kempson, Sexton (Shiels, 58), S Best (Moore, 58), Frost, Mustchin, (McCullough, 66) Ward (capt), N Best (Brosnihan, 72), Wilson.

Nothing else about this tread is of any interest.

Jared Payne is the best 15 who has played for Ulster in my lifetime.

Kiwis out - except Fat Nick. :red:

Angry Andrew Trimble is currently the GLU, his mentalism notwithstanding....... or his big toe for that matter.

All hail Andrew.

Agree with Fleg, I immediately thought of Neil McMillan at 7 too.

Such as shame that his career stalled because of injury, same with David Pollock >EF

Wardy would play 7 though.
Would have Cave at 13 and Payne at 15 as Bryn was houses but limited.
Pack would be a match for anyone but the backs is where we tended to struggle and in terms of a coach Solly perhaps?
Leinsters backs by comparison in the same era would be something like,
9.Whittaker
10 Sexton
11.Hickey
12.Contepomi or Darce
13.BOD
14.Nacewa or Horgan
15.Kearney

Coach; Joe Schmidt

The gulf in class outside of 9 and the wings apart is massive in comparison.
Guess thats the main reason they have won lots of things from then to now and we haven't.
