PornSarnie - it's hardly th 11the hour. Good we bit of time left to renew.

I have narrowed my options a little: It's now down to a) renew for the terrace or b) walk away.

Plan c)Transfer to prom has been eliminated due to one mucker jumping the gun and renewing before the collective decission was made.
Can I come out from behind the sofa yet?

Sorry BR, it was the 11th hour for discounted renewal which ended on the 31st. I'd renew if I was you. This season has felt very flat with no new Director of Rugby, no flash signings and lots of injuries to key players meaning we haven't done as well as one would hope. I get the feeling we'll push on again next year.

Nah. Discounted renewal still available until the end of May. The 31st March deadline was for the "extras" - getting the possibility of having your name on a players back (in small writing making up the number), stadium tour, pay by installments etc.

I agree with a lot of what PromSandwich has said; although I'm a relatively short term season ticket holder, I did wait a little this year. Part of that was due to large-scale location changes that were in the pipeline and didn't come to fruition; the other side of it was having a think on how I'd felt about the games I'd been at this year.

I'm still excited about UR and think that this is the best team I've seen in my time as a fan of the club. There are things that have happened, on the pitch and off, that have made me identify very strongly as an Ulster fan and whilst there are elements of the operation that nauseate me I'm not sure how that can be combatted by turning my back - though I would support anyone who feels that their link has been severed to do just that.

the club will probably continue to play on the loyalty I have in the future; at present, I get a huge amount of joy from being part of Ulster rugby and feel a sense of kinship with the players who turn out; all the more so when they are boys from the province. I'm generally proud of us as a team and generally proud to be associated with Ulster. for all that's gone on this year I still think we can have a good crack at the league, and no-one remembers barrowloads of Tom Kite when you get silverware.

For next year...getting Kiss in will improve us I'm sure. Some of the deadweight will hopefully shift and room will be made for the likes of O'Connor, McCloskey, Henderson, Jackson, Gilroy et al to become a new team. I'm already looking forward to seeing Trimble and Olding (in time) back - the latter may be the most exciting player I've seen on the park. we might even sign a new Muller (or get the old one again!) before I lose touch :fleg:

Thought long and hard about it, for the first time ever, might I add - but eventually bit the bullet and renewed.

Much as others have said - the match-going experience has diminished considerably for me since we started to morph into Belfast Saracens. The band, the "how to behave" nonsense spouted by the thought police, the "world domination" speech followed by smoke and mirrors ever since, the average to laughable squad acquisitions, the dross of Doakball....etc...etc. all done to death here already and all very much weighed up in the internal debate on renewal.

Bottom line, though - it's Ulster. Might not be an Ulster I particularly admire at the minute - but it is, what it is (as Johnno was so fond of saying) and I'm in it for the long-haul. Always have been since my late Grandfather brought me to Ravenhill as a nipper. Ulster had me from the start.

Onwards and upwards.

Of course you do need to be in the feckin country the odd weekend in order to get use of your season ticket ;)

Interestingly we have, apart from the Lienster game, had a pretty gash season, a coaching nightmare and more reds than a Russian May Day celebration ... secured 7000 Season Tickets ... so far.

Once we managed to get the remnants of a squad back together we have showed we can compete at Pro 12 level. And play entertaining non Doakball hoof it and see rugby.

Les is coming!

Piutau is meant to be coming!!!

Rumours Mill have indicated we have another BIG name on the way!!!!!!!!

We seem to have cleared out those who have successfully proved that we have not much local strength in depth.

If AAT and Olding make recoveries we have the makings of a very decent squad.

Hendo is fast becoming a serious bums on seats attraction.

Are things actually starting to look up at Ravenhill?????

More seriously, yes, things are probably looking up from the floor of the day after the home-to-Toulon game, but that was a pretty low floor to begin from . . .

Toulon was as far as I'm concerned a great wake up call ... in hindsight may not have done us as much damage as we thought.

We got obliterated ... men against boys ... it exposed a basic lack in the coaching department it exposed a basic lack in our strength in depth and it showed that if there obviously isn't talent coming through the academy to do a job you need to invest in quality players.

We may not have the resources of Toulon - or ever may have ... but we looked like a cheap suit that day ... the game on Friday was a world away form that debacle.

Bizarrley and very very unusually I awoke today in sparklingly good form so I'm going to post at my most positive.

Yes, of course things are looking up and here are a range of reasons why:

- We've just snattered Leinster and most pleasing was the manner of it. Came out sleepwalking went 10 points down, no panic, to borrow the words of great airport hero John Smeaton, "We will just set about you". That was the attitude, personified by Hendo and others forebye.
- We are also seeing that back at strength, at last, we are a side capable of playing more than just one dimensional rugby, delightful tries in Galway, hard edge against Leinster but with a lot of skill thrown in with two classic tries in their individual way.
- We have seen, some of us very belatedly, that Humph's last signings were not all chubes, that 3 robust South Africans have been excellent all season when called upon. I would happily see the three of them retained well into the future if it could be worked around the NIQ issue.
- Let's not forget that we could yet break our silverware drought. Something pretty major would have to happy to get that home semi but as I've said elsewhere, momentum is important & I believe we've got it right now and yet again, a week off allows the possibility that Darren Cave may be ok for Munster & we can name the same side for the third Irish derby on the trot. Quite possibly a unique occurrence in a century and more.
- Bryn, can anyone doubt that he has settled quickly & is doing the business - with whom I care not a jot - just as well as the Doctor did, Dr. Who anyone? :duck:
- Signing Piutau signals renewed ambition in the signings market, more to follow according to rumour. If they are of similar quality, albeit a year away, renewal is not even a doubt, get in there.
- Finally, it may just be possible that Doak has had a hard audience here, there have been few games where he has dealt from a full deck. Yes a lot has looked pish but Glasgow Tigers & Mexico were a treat. I'm prepared to back off, for now.

There ya go, positive or what?

I fear he would have done little for our disciplinary record

Smeaton shouted "f*ckin' mon, then" and aimed a kick in the testicles at Kafeel Ahmed, who later died from his 90% burns following the attack

On the run in, one of the biggest worrys about 4 high intensity games in succession, is the inevitable injury list. All 4 teams will be in the same boat of course (except possibly Weegies who may have the luxury of a home semi after their trip to Ospreys).
