Would it not have been wiser to bring Sandford back than to go with some guy we don't know?

Okay, this will surprise some, not underwhelmed at all, not another two all blacks etc but solid signings. However, I hope we have one or two big game players as I still have reservations with the current squad. Welcome to Ulster Browne and Rowley ![thumleft :thumleft:](./images/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif)

That's a bit unfair on all the good knobs out there.Russ wrote:Sandford is a knobMCBwinwinwin wrote:Would it not have been wiser to bring Sandford back than to go with some guy we don't know?

I suppose you have to ask yourself how excited you were when we signed Dan Tuohy and then cross your fingers and be optimistic!
Re: More signatures ... Browne and Rowley
I said exactly the same re Tuohy Clive. The lads have been widely welcomed on here, but the reaction from some of those 'real fans' on bakebook is nothing short of ridiculous.clivemcl wrote:I suppose you have to ask yourself how excited you were when we signed Dan Tuohy and then cross your fingers and be optimistic!
100% Kofi, I'm far from underwhelmed as well, and warmly welcome the two lads to Ulster. A 4/5/6 at 6'' 7' will at the very least be an asset at the lineout you would have thought. Plus his supposed stats that were stated elsewhere are nothing short of impressive in a setup like that he is currently in. I think both will turn out to be solid squad players.

Sign a big name and pay big money for a player who could spend half a season on the bench .
But given the second rows in the Academy why ?

Browne is good and a market improvement over some of our current squad locks.
Rowley less so.
