I haven't, my friend - but I've just YouTubed him and within the first 30 seconds I knew that this guy was right up my street.

Genuine thanks, I'm going to try and get to one of his gigs.

He also has an eerily similar voice to a guy I used to go watch in Liverpool called Mikey Kenney. Wrap your ears around this phenomenal talent:

Well Hairy, I tried it. Not for me but sure nathin' ventured nathin' gained. :thumleft:

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

This vocal performance has blown my mind. Any singers out there, try singing it along with him. Ridiculous vocal range.

Draiman is a superb vocalist then again quite a few of the heavy metal bands have great vocalists which is very noticeable when they sing ballads

Great local singer with a very seriously complex past, everything from being abused as a child by her uncle to attempted suicide, drug abuse and almost murdered by her partner, mental breakdowns, kids taken by social services etc finally got herself on the straight and narrow and a first rate Jazz and blues singer :salut:

True fact that. Bruce Dickinson and Chris Cornell to name but two. I had never heard of David Draiman before a colleague emailed me that link.

Just for the record, those are octave changes not key changes. The whole song is in F#m.

I love listening to metal singers covering softer songs, some people see metal as a guldering match (and in fairness, some of it is) but a lot of these singers are immensely talented.

As mentioned already, Chris Cornell and Bruce Dickinson are bosses, and David Dramain as we can hear in Snipe's link.

A few others maybe less known (or less widely known for their singing, should that be):

Corey Taylor (Slipknot/Stone Sour):

Apparently has one of the broadest vocal ranges in music, believe it or not. This doesn't really show it off but it's a nice wee cover all the same:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8naqdC_-1o

Myles Kennedy (Alter Bridge):

Just an immense voice. The fact that he went on tour with Slash to cover Axl Rose's parts says a lot, but his Alter Bridge stuff is class too. Here are a couple of my favourite performances of his:

He's excellent.

What about Axl touring with AC/DC? I don't know whether that's genius or a car crash.

I heard a rumour (it might have been a mate pulling my plonker - I can be gullible on occasion) that he's so fat that they have to have a chair for him to sit on while on stage
