Hmm, I seem to recall a certain Springbok flanker saying he would like to play a certain position when he joins his new club. Now who could that have been...

I wouldn't disagree, we missed Henry's turnovers on Sunday really badly. Leinster have obrien leavy vdf Ryan For their 7 options. The whole injury issue has exasperated the backrow problems but Bryn is gonna have to poach a few guys from somewhere.

And yet he'll still probably make more yards than the rest of our forwards combined.

No he will pass the ball or give it to the opposition so he can turn them over.

Bryn should concentrate on recruitment.

"Gobsmacked"?

Really? Who says that?

Let's keep the less than constructive criticism beyond closed doors. Or on here obviously.

I may be recalling wrongly, but from memory he never said openside, he said he wanted to "nail down that 6 Jersey" (or some such). Which obviously means something different in SA.

In that case, maybe we could give him the 6 shirt and just not tell him ? . . .

I have no issue with reidy and cross, although limited they are doing a job, circs are making us play them together and that is showing us up as weak, they were fully committed in France. Henderson should go back into the row, and Bryn needs to get 2 ready to go IQ backrows specifically 6/8. Unfortunately there are guys happy to play 12 games a season at Leinster and be Ireland fringe players rather than try to be an integral part of a side....I'm specifically thinking ruddock and jordi here.....I'd love conin, but fear he's happy to be behind heaslip for 2 more seasons rather than push on at the age of 25. Yep I know jordi ain't the most popular here, but he can mix it.
I also think we have to look at our young back rows and see if they can cut it. Kane and McCall did well, why not them. Until we sort that pack out we are not gonna get over that gainline to really make the most out of the back line. I'd genuinely be embarrassed in the forwards, having Mccluskey doing the dirty yards at 12 that a flanker should be doing, and big stu should then be running on to. Big broom needed, and obvious issues to resolve.

On a side issue there was rumours last year re private sponsorship of players to boost contracts etc, has this come into action?
Jordi Murphy would walk into our team. Would take him in a heartbeat.

In fact I'd take any of the Leinster backrow players, except for Dom Ryan who is just a Leinster version of Clive Ross.

Paul Marshall can't get a renewed contract, surely. Either IRFU climb down over RP or we steal An IQ SH from somewhere. Then also promote one of the academy boys.

There is no need to keep Marshall, I'm done with this province of mediocrity if he is on the books next year, I've better things to spend my ST money on.
