The UAFC has grown recently, not least thanks to the performances of the ULSTER team on the pitch, and a decison has been made to make some changes to the way the site is run, how articles are posted, and the general layout, cosmetic look and feel.Come gather 'round people
Wherever you roam
And admit that the waters
Around you have grown
And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you
Is worth savin'
Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.
The vast majority of the traffic through this site visits our messageboard, mostly directly, rather than coming through the front page, so the new interface will reflect this, and link the two parts of the website better than the current version.
A new editor has been appointed to look after some of the new content, and we should hear more from him shortly. there will be opportunities to help out.
We are currently sticking to the forum software phpBB, as it's been reliable in the past, and users are used to it's standard features and general layout. The biggest change will be to the index page as we introduce some new modules and menu bars.
I hope you all like the changes we are making. There should also be a few new board features, but they will be implemented over the coming months rather than weeks, as the main aim is to get the website up and running first, so that by the time we get to the start of next season, it is in full flow, with any amendments absorbed, ready to support Ulster for the coming years ahead.
Please keep your comments coming to this section, 'Technobabble' as we consider your opinions in the way we run this board, as always 'for the fans by the fans'.
Thank you for all the support you've given us these last few years, we've been around many years now, and it's all down to you, the Ulster fans, and our friends from other provinces, counties, regions and countries.
