Re: Jono Gibbes - New Head Coach
The thread starts off with an exciting potential coach rumour and turns to discussing what a banker BOD is. Plz why?

If you actually read the thread, you'll see why. Someone suggested BOD might be a good coach too.Dave wrote:The thread starts off with an exciting potential coach rumour and turns to discussing what a banker BOD is. Plz why?
Sorry - couldn't resist.
The real reason is that it' simply part of the natural progression of the thread before its culmination under Godwin's Law.

Anyhow my reference to Stringer and BOD as coaches is aimed at snipes view that Ruan will make the perfect backs coach. I happen to think it takes more than being a good/great player otherwise they would all be doing it.. For the avoidance of doubt I don't want BOD anywhere near the grass of Ravenhill unless it is to publically apologise for his part in the taking down of the Union Flag when Ireland graced us against Italy or whoever....
I simply remain unconvinced that no matter what the buyin Ruan wouldnt automatically overnight become a great backs coach..
For the record I would give Stringer a 12 month contract because he could still do job for us at 9 and yes Gibbes is definite upgrade..

And this is why I'd give Ruan a 36 month contract
