If it's the same knee I'll take a punt that a bit of loose cartilage is nipping and he'll need a clean out.

Best good news we could hope for, I'm fearing the worst.

It's the other knee.
Has he not previously damaged the "other" knee?

So Trimble has broken his hand again, Tommy takes 40 something seconds to break his leg and Christ what the score is with Marcell.

The Luck of Ulster, seems to have been this way for years. Is it just me or do we get far more than our fair share of serious injuries?

Tommy 5 serious injuries in 5 years ?????
Roger got a really bad one before he left Saints to come back.
Marcell signs and gets crocked before he sets foot here and god knows what now.
Girrid plays 2 and a bit games before maiming himself.
Let's not even go near Ferris :duh:
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

He probably has swelling in the knee so the scans can be a bit blurred, he may well just have exploratory surgery and if it is cartilage they'll clean it up there and than, I'm no Rocky but having had 6 ops on my own knees that would be my guess

Your knees might well be in better shape than Marcell's though.

When he stumbled/caught his studs in the turf, he immediately felt for his left knee.

It could be anything but he got a fairly thorough examination at one stage which presumably didn't detect any instability in the joint.

Anxious times for sure though.

Could someone with better medical knowledge than me explain why Tommy has a 'suspected' broken leg? One would have thought a fracture (however minor) could be diagnosed fairly conclusively, fairly quickly?

Fracture might not show on an x-ray and they may have to wait a day or two to get an MRI to confirm it I guess.

Unofficial source on Twitter saying Coetzee is out for another 9 months. Hope this isn't true!
