Divisions would be shiite, less home games, not getting to play all the top sides, and suddenly the matches from the other division would hold little interest and not be worth watching. Also inevitably one would be much tougher than the other with the suggested split, one league could have dragons instead of the blues, Edinburgh rather than Glasgow and Connacht rather than Ulster.

A wee bit like the 6 Nations, great tournament but fecked up by the 2 home 3 away and same pairings each season

You would have concerns over Rodneys well being if he has to play at altitude in South Africa. He looks and breathes like a dog pulling on a lead on a cold winters night in Belfast.
