Queens and UUJ will probably make up another 2, UUJ sports complex is brilliantRuss wrote:Be interesting to see where the training bases areCockatrice wrote:Bringing the RWC to Ireland is all about the development of GAA grounds in Ireland. If I seen benefit for a single rugby club in Ulster I might give more a feck than baggy does about the Lions tours.
Assume one in Banbridge as it has some of the best facilities
Dumps like Ballynahinch will luckily miss out
Probably need 5-6 training grounds in Ulster

Yip good for sailing or canoeing but not a heck of a lot of good as a training base for a RWC teamRuss wrote:YesRooster wrote:Have you ever been to Enniskillen Russ ?Russ wrote:AgreedUlsterAreBrill wrote:Queens and UUJ will probably make up another 2, UUJ sports complex is brilliantRuss wrote:Be interesting to see where the training bases are

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Re: All-Ireland bid to stage 2023 RWC
I don't know about that... World Rugby may not want the RWC to be perceived as a bit of a sideshow compared to the much bigger event the year after. There has been some talk that this has been happening with RWC 2019 / Tokyo 2020. So for example, some sponsors will commit to the Olympics a few years in advance and won't do other events.Russ wrote:Which has no bearing on the RWCNeill_M wrote:Looks like Paris will be confirmed as the 2024 Olympics venue.
