Re: Jono Gibbes - New Head Coach
Very smart idea and following on from Jared helping out and getting a glowing report from Schmidt during the week on his defensive organisation if he is going into coaching no better way of getting up to speed than working alongside Farrell for a couple of months, a smart move all round by the IRFU , he could become a first rate backs and defence coach with some experience.

Stories of Payne's demise have been greatly exaggerated?

If Payne can come back from his headaches and be allowed to play 15 I won’t miss Charles next year one bit..

But Schmidt (and more to the point Payne) want Payne to play 13.

Neither Payne nor Schmidt will argue with Big Jono as he could kick their balleeks in.

Sorry if I don't get all wet and excited, but was Kiss not the defence guru who came to help out, then got the job, history repeating itself.

Aye but Kiss was a beaten docket at that stage his defence system was turned upside down at the RWCKofi Annan wrote:Sorry if I don't get all wet and excited, but was Kiss not the defence guru who came to help out, then got the job, history repeating itself.

Farrell is an unbeaten Lions coach and obviously rated by Joe, good enough for meKofi Annan wrote:Sorry if I don't get all wet and excited, but was Kiss not the defence guru who came to help out, then got the job, history repeating itself.
Chris Henry is superhuman... I think he's half cyborg
Re: Jono Gibbes - New Head Coach
Farrell started as Rugby League and then switched to Playing Union for about 4 - 5 years and would be aware of the differences in the games , Kiss was less aware and therefore the structure necessary to play Union also got lost . The tank like front row is absent in League and therefore the 6 forwards tend to be more mobile and interchangeable in attack and defence , in rugby Union attempting interchange in roles can result in serious mismatches.
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist

Meanwhile back with Jono, interesting to hear his response to players having said nothing much has changed. He appeared to think they were chubes but left it at "yeah it's a players game", they haven't a lulu what happened before they come in and after they feck off for coffefe.
I like Jono.
