It’s season ticket time, they must have some good news to share soon. Right?

Will there be anyone left for him to coach?

Meanwhile somewhere in Northern Ireland a team of Mexican immigrants have been flown in to man a 24/7 round the clock watch on his landline and mobile phone ... as Willie Anderson sees his chance, he isn't gonna miss it this time.

On the plus side, there is now literally no excuse for a complete overhaul of coaching and management structures at all levels of the organisation. But I'm sure those who have the say will find one, nonetheless.
Not convinced, King. Soper has done impressive things and I don't seek to dispute that. But if Ulster are planning on being serious, Soper is the sort of person Ulster need heading up the academy, not the professional team. I fear that if Soper is the best Ulster can do for head coach (or whatever other absurd title they might want to give the guy in the top chair), it will show the complete lack of ambition that has bedevilled Ulster's coaching setups for the last decade and more. That's not to say that I don't think Soper would do a good job. Just that Ulster need someone with a proven track record in the professional game. This is a problem that goes back to McCall, at least. The lack of success of Ulster head coaches after their time at Ulster is startling. Even with McCall, it was a circuitous route to where he is now. Too many risks taken on coaches who had proven little, if anything, at the level where Ulster are supposed to operate.kingofthehill wrote:Soper would be the right man.

Does this mean that World Domination has been put on hold again?

real dark before the dawn territory. feel like the IRFU needs to instigate absolutely massive changes in our structure wherever possible: we are the de facto failing province as of now.
all the best to Gibbes, can't say I blame him. Seems like a top fella and his need to get out before it gets worse is probably justified.
what a massively deflating experience it is to be involved with Ulster. at some point in time maybe we'll be reintroduced to the idea that sport is, at some level, meant as entertainment.

Can ulster get much much worse? Might be an appealing job for some but take your point.Blow in wrote:Why would Dan soper leave two well paid successful jobs to take a tom kite one?
Turn ulster round and you could be the coaching messiah.

Are we to trust Bryn to get a good replacement - he has been pretty useless so far.
