Indeed but Hairy Dave seems to tog out for Agen fairly frequently so he can't be entirely without merit.ColinM wrote:Dave Ryan and Ruaidhri were responsible for the definition of the word Dave on this forum. At least they served one purpose.

In true Ulster fashion, and iirc he arrived injured and spent most if not all of his time here injured. Might have got semi fit and broken again in a Ravens fixture?

The only thing is, they have left the UAFC faithful in a state of flux and confusion ... Having set the bar as low as one could humanly consider possible for a Dave ... (and by heck we managed to locate and promote some Daves here) ... they have left us with nowhere to go when trying to pigeonhole "The Hond".ColinM wrote:Dave Ryan and Ruaidhri were responsible for the definition of the word Dave on this forum. Andy Kershaw was a good signing. Apparently he was a ginge. Can't remember ever seeing him though.

Seems he was supposed to eventually play for Ireland. He didn't.

Right lads this is getting out of hand. There is only one way to finish such an exchange
Veitayaki's scrummaging power will be a significant help to a side badly in need of a boost. Scrummaging hasn't exactly been one of the province's strength in their interprovincial campaign.

Great one Gary. He was before his time in the ulster world now populated by Daves.

Maybe this is getting silly, but here's a guy who reminds us that we have a long history of signing broken Saffers. This one had a detachable shoulder.

That's enough good signings.

bangor... the clue was already in there from the off-set... the A team at Rosslyn Park.bangorboy wrote:ColinM wrote:Gary wrote:davejohnston wrote:Irish Times reporting that the IRFU are still seeking an Irish solution to the no. 10 posistion, but it’s not one of Munsters, Madigan or Steenson. I take this to mean they are searching for a SH player with Irish grandparents. We also might get a shot at destroying Farrells coaching reputation.

Which would mean we're likely to end up with a 10 who is signed mainly because his granny was Irish. The fact that he might be a useless tosser is neither here nor there. For feck's sake, let's stick with what we got and build for the future.
So we'll sign some 'never has been, never will be' with an Irish granny to block our talent instead of a current Springbok international who might, just might, mentor our up and coming players.
I'll just leave this here for old times sake...
Ruaidhri is a highly talented young Irish prop whose experience of Super Rugby will bring an extra dimension to our front row next season.
“I am delighted that he is joining us and I have no doubt that he will be a huge success at Ravenhill in the coming years.
I can beat that easily...
"We are delighted to bring Brett into the Ulster environment.
"He has undoubted potential, with an array of skills and real line-breaking ability, which we aim to explore further. With the depth of International-class outhalves at Bath, Brett's opportunities have been limited to the 'A' team and Rosslyn Park, where he has excelled.
"An injury curtailed his almost certain starting berth for England in the U20 World Cup.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
