Ireland can win it - Pakistan 3 down.

It's got more than a hint of Leeds in '81 about the game at the moment.

KOB was always going to be the first guy to get a ton for Ireland.

Whilst it's arguably worked out in Ireland's favour, I've not convinced about the follow-on rule in these circumstances.

If just one delivery been sent down on the first day (or even if the 'Play' had been called), the follow on wouldn't have been an option.

Us Lionels are worth watching at the minute.

That’s 11 ODI wins out of 13 against the Aussies.

Waiting to hear my World Cup allocation. Could be in for 2 grand but i’m sure I could entice a client or two to join me .....

Your previous about sending Bayliss home with EJ was nonsense. His remit was ODI’s and he has delivered in spade fulls.

Test cricket is a different game and requires a different coach.

Was it?

Presumably his remit wasn’t to make us worse at a Test cricket and we don’t have a different coach.

I could coach our ODI team and we wouldn’t have bottled the Champions Trophy either.

Ach. ODIs are the equivalent of Rugby 7s. Stopped watching them years ago,

That’s T20 these days Merv.

481 off 50 overs In the previous game. Incredible really. Pure batting. Proper shots.

Nobody ever remembers who won ODI series beyond the most recent one.

That’s only cos the bloody Aussies have won most of them, although I very much remember watching India turn over the West Indies in ‘83.

I reckon England winning one on home turf next year would pique the nation’s interest if the tournament is properly managed, although live coverage is on Sky of course.

When he took over, Cook was still captain and playing a 1980’s style of cricket. Cook and Trott in the top three FFS. England had been humiliated in the World Cup and ranked lower than Bangladesh. You have to give Bayliss credit for turning them into the top ODI side in the world.

That’s incorrect.

He was appointed in May 2015.

Cook played his last ODI in December 2014 and Trott (who was actually very effective) in September 2013 (av 51 at 77 compared to Root’s 50 at 86).

He is benefitting from a golden generation and I imagine the team talk, if there is one, would go something along the lines of :

“Jason mate, you just go out there and Ashton it. Same for you Jonny, Alex, Morgs, Stokesy and Jos. Rooty, just give ‘em the strike OK.”

He’s led the team extremely well and has scored more runs for England in ODI cricket than anyone.

The only decent idea Trevor Bayliss has ever had was the wind-up radio.

What a first test between England and India, lasted not much beyond 3 days yet it swung one way then the other even this morning.
I don't follow cricket too closely but I did this for this game.
