Re: Billy Burns
He did indeed, though the fact the conversation was being had doesn't mean D4 necessarily started it.
How it came about doesn't make any difference to the fact he's here, just interested given it was apparently Cooney who instigated his move here last year.

Re: Billy Burns
Burns reckons he hadn’t thought of leaving Glos and it all happened pretty quickly.
The carrot of a World Cup spot has been mentioned by Humph as a reason why they didn’t stand in his way.

Re: Billy Burns
I suspect Humph had a reasonable involvement in this happening

Aye, Mr and Mrs Afoa has nothing but good things to say also.Eggs wrote:I suspect Humph had a reasonable involvement in this happening

If he's so ambitious how come he signed for us?tigerburnie wrote:A useful lad who is ambitious, could do well with you guys
Re: Billy Burns
If his ambition is to play in a World Cup then we’re not a bad gamble for him.
Re: Billy Burns
Browne, Dalton, Henderson, O'Connor, Thompson and Treadwell..... we are well stocked in the 2nd row.nonplussed wrote:A damn fine signing and with a quality utility back coming, a rejuvenated Hond, a fit Marcel and Lyttle back fit we look ok bar Lock .... Any tall trees out there ?

2MP will be our talisman this season now that Jono has gono.
Re: Billy Burns
This boy could go to the RWC and he knows it. A good signing in the circumstances and will be a decent backup to Paddy for Ireland in the future.

Re: Billy Burns
If someone told me last year that we would have signed this guy and PJ would be playing in France, I would have shat on their face. He ticks a few boxes that seemed untickable by any player with preseason already started.
He's young.
He's IQ.
He has a 100+ caps in a top tier league.
He's wants to come.
He's not Keatley.
McPhillips and Lowry are both quite injury prone. I think it is a decent signing.

I have my own tv channel, what have you got?
Re: Billy Burns
He may well want to go to the RWC, but he wants to play for England.
Re: Billy Burns
Then moving to Ulster wasn’t the best call.
