Joe's big mistake last ime out was Conway on the bench. This forced Earls into outside centre and Earls lacks the ability to time a rush defence without creating holes in the defence, thus Ireland had to adopt a drift defence which failed to protect the gain line. Lamour is better option for the bench because unlike Conway he could if necessary fit into the centre --Addison would have been better still except unfortunately he's injured.

I wonder if Carberry is injured or does Joe recognise the French would try to eat him if he came near the gain line.

It looks like Cooney may have a plane ticket but lack a seat on the plane if the srcum half options are restricted to two.

I think Coney will go. He can play out half as well as scrum half and is a good kicker.I also think Addison will go(if fit) because of his ability to play right across the back line.

I hate RWC years. It just means the league gets even more f*cked over than usual.

Totally agree big M. I'm more interested in Ulster rugby than the World cup strange as that may seem to some.

Well England’s plan B looked good against the Italians .

Plan B — two thick thighed Hard to tackle centres to suck the defence into the middle then toss the ball wide to a fast wing or one who is equally hard to tackle .

Against weak opposition it worked well .

I think we will be reasonably ok. NIQs on board at that stage plus I'm not sure Cooney will be in the RWC squad. We'll see.
