I'm struggling to put this all together in a sentence...

That's my take, but I'd be happy to see a nasty and ruthless streak on Saturday.Dave wrote:I'm struggling to put this all together in a sentence...

Ticket sales slow to say the least for Saturday. Only the West Terrace/"Prom" sold out.

That's strange in itself. Is the Prom the new Terrace ir is it because that's where the Westies' standing allocation is?Neill_M wrote:Ticket sales slow to say the least for Saturday. Only the West Terrace/"Prom" sold out.

I suppose the once a season types have already had their "day out".Neill_M wrote:Ticket sales slow to say the least for Saturday. Only the West Terrace/"Prom" sold out.
Good job the weather improved against Leinster - my nieces and nephew weren't put off for life and will be coming along again this week.
The wee lad got soaked anyway after someone behind managed to toss a couple of pints over him.

I do believe the Connacht Clan lads actively told people to buy for the West Terrace so this may well explain it.big mervyn wrote:That's strange in itself. These figures don't surprise me. Last year was challenging and will have put people off. This year has gone surprisingly well (above my expectations). I suspect we will see an increase for 2019/20 based on the improvement this year. Still doing well in the league relative to other sides in terms of % of regular ground capacity filled re the crowds:Dave wrote:Average attendances appear to be declining.

Ulster fans won't get out of bed for anything less than a Heineken Cup qf.

Re: Ulster v Connacht, Sat May 4th 2019 17:35
There is definitely a % of Ulster fans who only show up for the likes of Leinster and a Racing 92 coming to town etc. Not there on a wet Friday night in November for a game v the Dragons/Southern Kingsbig mervyn wrote:Ulster fans won't get out of bed for anything less than a Heineken Cup qf.
Re: Ulster v Connacht, Sat May 4th 2019 17:35
I would have thought that any improvement would seen an improvement in attendance towards the end of the season. The fact that we are struggling to fill the place for a home QF is a pretty poor showing. I wonder what UR are doing about this?Neill_M wrote:These figures don't surprise me. Could this be anything to do with Connacht not taking their full allocation?
