Take it Sexton will be too?
I either heard it from a good source or else I dreamed it in a beer fuelled stupor but is Sexton not going with Irish 7's next season ?

Yeh but should still be attached to ulster academy.

Armstrong hasn’t accepted place in academy apparently instead wants to do medicine.

No the guy was a liability

What McIlroy Snr was acquitted of has nothing to do with McIlroy Jnr. End of. The connection you are implying leaves me astounded.

Rum - I am pretty disappointed by your attitude here. The decision on whether to award younger McIlroy a contract or not should be based on his ability and temperament only and not based on how anyone views his brother. If the younger McIlroy has an attitude issue then fine not to take him, as would be the case with anyone else, but if ulster decided not take him based on either reservations about his brother or thinking it may generate some initial media interest then quite frankly that would be pretty concerning.

I can’t imagine in other walks of life from a legal perspective, someone being turned down for a job because of how people viewed a relative of theirs.

This is why rum is a feck idiot. I've never once bothered to reply until his ridiculous crap posted here and commenting on McIlroy. Folks please see a select few of rums previous posts.

https://www.ulsterrugby.com/2019/05/sho ... by-awards/
Danske Bank Boys Schools Player of the Year
Nathan Doak (Wallace High School)
Conor Rankin (Campbell College Belfast)
Tom Stewart (Belfast Royal Academy)
I see the three names above are up for the boys player of the year at the Ulster awards. Rankin and Stewart as far as I can see are in the academy for next year but is Doak Jnr?

I watched Doak play for Ulster Vs Australia and without him I'd be confident they would have lost otherwise.

Doak going into U6th.

Explain to me how McIlroy and Armstrong aren’t on that list? Not one MCB representative is nuts this year.

Armstrong and McIlroy I'd definitely have ahead of Rankin. Honesty I haven't been blown away by Doak either yet.

That'll explain it, thanks KOTH. I'm even more excited about Doak now, knowing that he has still another year of development at school.

Is the schools player of the year list based solely on performances playing for Ulster, Schools Cup or regular season?

If it is only based on performances for Ulster Schools that may explain it.......

I thought Doak was good in this game (see link below), but I wouldn't have watched him week in week out. He's not flashy but has a rugby brain, a good pass and an excellent kicking game. He's a good old fashioned style scrum half, maybe that's the attraction for me.

It takes two to tango and maybe as it might surprise some on here that some players are putting a career and university first and keeping on rugby as a pastime/ sport.

Point well made sir!

It does however deeply sicken me, I'd have done anything to represent my province.
