With a year still to go on his contract. The great man doesn't deserve this shoddy treatment from the FIRFU.

I hear he and family are heading back to SA, he took it very badly when his sister was killed in the car accident.

Re: Ruan Pienaar
Entirely understandable if he does. He has always put his family's best interests ahead of everything else, so it wouldn't be surprising if they want to pull closer together with family back in South Africa.Rooster wrote:I hear he and family are heading back to SA, he took it very badly when his sister was killed in the car accident.
Wherever he may go on this small planet though, he will ALWAYS be an Ulster man.
I'm not arguing -

It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.

Sadlier reporting if Cooney is selected for the World Cup squad, IRFU would permit scrum half cover. Or am I reading that how I want to read it.The former World Cup winner could potentially be offered a short-term deal, IRFU permitting, to provide scrum-half cover should John Cooney be called up to the World Cup squad.

Cooney won't be called up and the IRFU won't agree.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?
Re: Ruan Pienaar
It’s a long shot to think the FIRFU would sanction that never mind have the decency to even give the Ulsterman a full season contract so he could move home.
I always believed there was room for Cooney and Ruan. He didn’t need exiled. I’d wage a bet Ruan would have taken a pay cut and support role to Cooney if he was offered. Shananghan is AIL standard never mind Pro 14 not even thinking HC, and we will go nowhere fast if he’s our back up 9.
Come on FIRFU, demonstrate equal treatment - allow Ruan to come home on a rolling 12 month contract season by season to give us a chance when Cooney is on duty or injured.

A player/coaching role would be ideal for him and us.
If it was Munster would it even be a question?
