Much prefer to see the English eat humble pie to be honest.

Does that interviewer intend to be so irritating?
AWJ did well to (almost) put up with her drivel.

A game to come against Engerland and 2 v Wales. Any guesses on how many key players will be wrecked before the RWC starts?

Depends on the definition of a key player. Are we using standard definition or UAFC definition?big mervyn wrote: ↑Mon Aug 12, 2019 4:32 pm A game to come against Engerland and 2 v Wales. Any guesses on how many key players will be wrecked before the RWC starts?
It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.
Re: Japan RWC
My guess was 1 player a match -- at the moment Ireland-- have very few key players in so far as the "maybes " are not that much different from the 'definites' -- but there are combinations of players which perform better than others and every player has what could be described as a known weakness .
But there are combinations where the backup players are short of experience but not quite to the same extent as other world cup squad in the past.
eg while the likes of 42 'cream like a teenage girl" over Carberry he fails to inspire me with confidence as an outhalf and there are a few of hard to shift members of the squad who while not passengers could be first in the lifeboats ie they are not the same players they were two years ago and fail to put in" a full shift ' --go for a sleep in the store room for a time.

Basically Prom
Ireland have a better squad - with adequate cover in most positions but may have a couple of players past their prime and like most coaches Joe sticks to the players he knows .
Therefore his retirement after the World Cup might be a blessing in disguise.

Carbery out for 6 weeks. Don't like seeing players get injured, but slap it up the IRFU

Damian what boards have said Cooney dropped from squad?
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

He probably would have been in the 23 on Sat if he was in Joe's plans. Probably waited to see if the other 2 emerged unscathed before telling him. Joe must think he'll be alright for 10s
