Re: A little bit of politics folks`
If Ireland can afford to be independent so can Scotland. Plus the EU would be glad to help. We aren't all behest to xenophobic England.

Jackie grow up
Ireland was lifted from the dark ages by the EU
It’s access route to the EU is now compromised it is now no longer the poor man of Europe and up to its neck in debt to the Central Bank .
Afford to be an independent — no navy no air force no army no NHS and no land border with England
Houses in Dublin cost 1/2 a million for a semi
As stated The future of the SNP is the dream not the reality . The dream makes the party possible .
It unites a divided Country of Rich and Poor — Glasgow v Edinburgh — urban v rural - Highlands v Lowlands .
With out the English to despise nothing unites them .

Grow up?
The EU will keep Scotland afloat. Scotland will have no military or nuclear arsenal to worry about. They will also have a bit of revenue from its North Sea reserves.
Why do Dublin house prices matter to Scottish independence.
At least the SNP unite a country, I see more disparity across the UK than ever before. You ever taken a walk through central London? The Scots despising England? Those are strong words. Just because they are pushing for independence doesn't mean they have to despise their neighbours. Their recent history with England is hardly as violent as Ireland's was before independence. The English haven't starved them or disenfranchised them.
Unionists greatest fear is an independent Scotland. It's coming.

That Jackie is why the Scots will be told to get wise and forget about the EU saving them .
Do you think the EU want to fund a Scottish NHS and education system .
Germany will be spending millions trying to solve the problems of the former eastern block countries on its doorstep .
Why because if it doesn’t the there will be an increase of immigration from those countries into Germany .
The reason for it being a reasonable result is in the words of Boris — Brexit will now happen and the EU will stop farting about realising that remain is no longer a possibility .

Jackie your History of Scotland requires updating .
The consequences of the 45 were as gross as anything inflicted on the Irish — the Irish emigrated due to starvation the Scots at the point of a gun.

The Scots also had a famine in the middle of the 19th Century albeit a smaller one. About a third of the population of the Western Highlands emigrated.

How have the English treated them in the last 100yrs?
Scotland will get their vote. Boris would be wise to give them it, the more they refuse the more likely they are to lose.

English nationalism is doing more to disunite the UK than anything else.

Exactly how have the English mistreated the Scots
Many of PMs have been Scottish in the last 30 years never mind 100
No the BBC has done more to segment Brittain than anyone else — local radio jobs for egos
Sowing the seeds of disaffection and one of the first things Boris will do free licence fees to over 75s and a reduced licence fee over 5 years to zero .

SNP won 45% of the vote in Scotland, so to say they are a uniting force wouldn't be true. If more than half of Scottish voters placed their mandate with UK wide parties I don't think anyone could say with certainty that Scotland would vote for independence.
Boris is leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party, he will continue to fight for the union of our countries.

Conservatives didn't even get 43%, yet have an 80seat majority. Feels a bit like Gerrymandering

I always vote; EU, Council, Westminster and Assembly.
I'm in my mid30s, lived in two constituencies and my Westminster vote has never counted.

Conservatives majority has nothing to do with gerrymandering, it is as a result of a multi party democracy. If there are more than 2 parties whoever wins under first past the post is going to be doing very well to get 50% of the vote.Jackie Brown wrote: ↑Sat Dec 14, 2019 6:52 pm Conservatives didn't even get 43%, yet have an 80seat majority.
