Ah I see. Ludik had been widely expected to play at 15 but I had a feeling he’d be on the wing.

Anyone feeling charitable enough to describe that first half performance as ‘rusty’?

Well that was pretty terrible. No, that was absolutely terrible. A few weeks go I suggested that Ulster would be Ireland's third province. That looks a bit ambitious now. I can't think of any redeeming features. Lineout... hah! Creativity... none. Competence... limited. Well, Marcel was his usual rampaging self... that's about it. Maybe the most positive thing we can dream up to say is that we were rusty and it'll all be ok in a week or two. I'm not holding my breath.

Absolutely terrible. We looked under cooked and off the pace. Why was the former Connacht scrum half reffing this match?

How poor was that!! Burns is not a captain. What does he bring to the side? He has had enough time but makes no waves. Stockdale is not a fullback. Slow and frequently bewildered. Moore? Disgraceful shape for a professional sportsman. Cooney and Coetzee taken off? Herring never appeared. I have no confidence in the coaching and management of the side. Same old story.
