Think he may get man of the match
Nobody else has scored 4 or more for Ulster in the professional era

I think 57 is probably also a record for an away game.
We beat Ebbw Vale 61-28 away in one of our better Heineken Cup campaigns  name the year :duck:

Early days and there will be tougher games but has being handed the captaincy woken big Sam Carter from his slumber? He is becoming increasingly prominent every week and key to a very smooth Ulster lineout these past few weeks. Him and Hendy, with Tredwell offering real impact off the bench could be our best combination.

Surely "1998" is the name? I'm off to copywrite 2022. I'll make a small fortune licensing it to the calendar/ diary industry.

Beginning to think we need two divisions, and dare I say promotion and relegation, there are too many games in the Pro14 that you can 99% tell who is going to win before it starts. Also think they made a mistake having two Italian teams, should have started with one, a quasi national team, that would have been strongly competitive and then took it from there (a bit like what Argentina/Jaguares were in the Super whatever).

For a poor league we've won it once, and that's now 15 seasons and counting.

I also get frustrated with the competitiveness of the league but then look at the English Premiership and French Top 14 and there's a massive disparity between top and bottom there also.

he's definitely settled and starting to turn up on a weekly basis. hopefully this is him getting the motor running for some tougher games as you say but we need a serious operator at lock when competition really heats up.

on the match itself...serious questions to be asked about the overall competition but that's a Leinster style hoking. Sounds like the pack went about their business fairly professionally - the radio comms suggested McIlroy went reasonably well and deserved his score for effort alone.

I liked his little step before going into contact which tended to ensure a small gain. Getting a full game under his belt will help. Moving to the other side of the world and then getting injured meant last season was a write off.

He’s got the chance now to show what he can do.

He was fairly quiet but it was a very nice finish. Got done in the air for their early score, although the winger probably had no right to score!

Scarlets will not have McNicholl available to supply the bullets for their wingers and that Edinburgh side tonight looked very unfamiliar.

Ten points there for the taking.
