ULSTER MOTM vs Munster
Ulster won comprehensively in the first half, but couldn't kick on in the 2nd, letting Munster back into the game for a bonus point.
but plenty of good to talk about at the same time.
Ethan McIlroy was the offical Motm, but who was yers?

Re: ULSTER MOTM vs Munster
Burns did really well as did McIlroy - the entire back row really put their hands up ( including McCloskey!!) but for me Nick Timoney played his socks off and deserves the accolade.
Hope is not a strategy.

A few people putting their hands up for MotM and those already mentioned all played well.
For me though the old adage of forwards win matches applies, so my vote goes to Stu McCloskey.

McCloskey for me too, quite a few defensive moments he stood up. Agree Burns, Timoney and McElroy had really good games

Timoney for me. Has upped the physicality in the last couple of games after a stint with the A team.

I was very impressed with his maul disruption work. It was muted on here once upon a time that he should be repositioned into the backrow. I hear it's quite an important area.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:A few people putting their hands up for MotM and those already mentioned all played well.

If it was muted, how did you hear it?

Agree re big Stu. He was like an extra back row forward last night.

Re: ULSTER MOTM vs Munster
If it was for the first half performance alone I would give it to Billy Burns.
But it turned into a forward battle in the second half and I thought Timoney had a great game throughout the match - he get's my vote.
Special mention to young McCann. Although I don't think he got any turnovers, he didn't take a step backwards, he carried well in a couple of occasions and he didn't look out of place. Also he has better hands than Matty Rea!

Also voted for Timoney. Strong carrying and good tackling performance.
Re: ULSTER MOTM vs Munster
It was muted as a possible substitution against Glasgow when Henry was fading and Ulster needed a ball carrier to break the gain line . At that time Ulster had an abundance of 12s McCloskey, Marshall, Olding, --Arnold and Farrell might also have been on the books at the time.

Billy Burns
Re: ULSTER MOTM vs Munster
Thought Billy had a great game, McCloskey butting through that maul to win the turn over was epic [any other centre do that?] and I really liked how Timony has been playing - carrying hard and winning smart turnovers.
And it's mooted not muted for F sake..
