I would prefer a Changalang brother over the FIRFU muck.

SA is a red list travel banned country at present. I can't see that changing for quite a while. Currently anyone coming into the UK will have to have a negative test before leaving and quarantine when they get here. The risks are too high. There is evidence of reduced efficacy with the AZ vaccine against the SA variant B1.351. We have just used the AZ vaccine with all our over 80s. There is no way it should proceed in the near future.
Not all - Care homes and some others have had the Pfizer. As have I (60+).

Agree though that the Rainbow Cup seems to be a risk too far, despite most of us wanting a return to normal sport asap.
Yes true- It was mainly used by vaccinations provided in GP clinics. That would be a large proportion of the over 80 and over 70 groups.

I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

There are some matches where the TMo seems to think (s)he is the 1st referee by proxy.
And there's me hoping for competence - the ref(s) seem to demand it from the players. However, I do agree that Ulster do seem to miss the effect of their crowd more than other teams.... although there's me (naively) thinking it shouldn't matter. Not a problem buying a season ticket to support the lads on the pitch since after all the PJ/SO stuff, that's why we still do.

The most disappointing decision had to be the way Ruddock tried to 'buy' the McCloskey block by just hanging his left arm out there.... and then as noted, even he wasn't asking for it. As for Leinster's back-line - did I miss it in attack ?

Malcolm Changleng certainly.

The best thing to be said about David Changleng is that hopefully he would be equally bad for both teams, but Malcolm was a step up from him.

They both got a terrible reputation, but often I went home from Ravers and re-watched the match, and realised Malcolm was more often right in his decisions despite what we thought at the time. The same could not be said about David.

A potentially great game of rugby spoiled by officials! It’s a sad reflection of the way our great game is going - it’s interesting that rugby league (I’m not a big fan of league btw) does not seem to be suffering in the same way despite intensive tackling (albeit there are not the same rucks and mauls etc.). We are suffering from over (and often inaccurate) analysing! Sad!
Hope is not a strategy.

I made the point to my son just before half time that I had forgotten Dave Kearney was playing, as that was the first time I had noticed him - at about 39 minutes.

I was rightly corrected that he had been seen earlier in the match ... as Lowry ran past him with ease.

Honestly guys. The ref, ref, ref.
That was the bare bones we had out there tonight, the bare bones, you were missing Hendo, and we double scored you in your own ground. Embarrassing is what it is.

Not often I cheer for Sarries, particularly with their record v Ulster, but watching them demolish Leinster in the QF last year and then seeing all the comments on the 42, Irish Times amd elsewhere about the ref missing 'boring in' etc at the scrum etc etc does tell me that what goes around comes around.

Unfortunately for those waiting to see what happens when the Pro14 sides meets the SA teams, the refs will get there first......

Anyone but Leinster, which is one of the reasons why watching Ireland at the minute is a pleasurable experience.

We won't beat them consistently until we can develop our own. We won't beat them with their castoffs. Madigan, Cooney, Timoney, AOC, Murphy aren't good enough to play for Leinster
An Ulster team of Ulstermen is what should be the aim. However we like to sack our best and replace with second rate muck.

Can you see that the ulstermen who play forward aren't good enough? So you rely on leinstermen, if it wasn't for leinster "muck", ulster would be competing with the dragons.

Did I call Leinstermen muck? All I said was we aren't going to compete when we have to pick up their castoffs.

The muck is our second rate 10s.

My favourite is lazy runners and clearing out well past the ruck.
Forgot to add TMO to the list. Both of them conspired to ruin the match. It now makes rugby very hard to watch and thats a slippery slope for any professional sport.

To be positive, the highlights of the evening were Baloucoune’s 2 tries and Dan’s post-match comments. The tries were things if beauty and the comments were right on the money.
