Re: United Rugby Championship
Which one?
Re: United Rugby Championship
Neil.
Cockers and Edinburgh gone seperate ways, which I think is a shame. He had them comeptitive again and was doing pretty much what Dan has done here. He was getting the most out of what he had.
Losing Sutherland and Van Der Merwe two Lions would have been a kick in the teeth.

He turned them around originally but diminishing returns since.
Only the Italian sides won fewer games in the Pro 14 and they had the same results in the Rainbow Cup as we did.
Neill has unearthed rumours of there being trouble at’ mill.

Phew. I'd forgotten about Cockerill going. Had a nightmare about Nathan going.UlsterNo9 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 8:21 pmNeil.

There’s a video online where he does a blind-tasting of Guinness, Beamish and Murphy’s and manages to get them all wrong.BR wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 12:58 pmThe Guinness Guru is, of course, entitled to his opinions, but I wouldn't give him any more credence than the next man. In that clip, he doesn't exactly tell you much about that product does he? He seems more interested in the glass than what it is in it. WTF is this obsession with glasses?Neill_M wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 9:25 pmIsland Edge.....waggonsroll wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 5:48 pmAnybody seen that Heineken in Cork have introduced a new stout designed to appeal to younger drinkers who don't like stout. It apparently doesn't taste like a stout, has no bitter aftertaste and isn't terribly alcoholic. An ideal beverage to replace Guinness with.BR wrote:As good as xonfirmed that Guinness will not be title sponsor.BR wrote: ↑Wed Jun 16, 2021 1:22 pm They have taken an already unfair league system and made it even less fair.
If you're a top 4 team, you have to play the other top 4 teams twice. If you're Glasgow, you get to play the bottom 3 teams twice.
It just feels like they are trying to hobble the Irish sides, and it looks like the IRFU are happy to agree to it.
Can't see them sticking with the HEC qualification system when it is up for renewal. That may be fairer, but I feel the HEC loses something when it does not have representation from each union. But even when they return to a top 8 HEC qualification system, the inbuilt bias of the ProNN should prevent the Irish side (or maybe the SA sides from dominating).
However - by far the most concerning aspect of this - It doesn't look like Guinness are renewing their sponsorship - that means no pourage rights at Ravenhill.
Anyone know when the Heineken deal at Ravenhill expires?
They're not making it easy for themselves to get me attending again.

The Guinness Guru on YouTube wasn't impressed.

I tried that the first time I went to Cork and, of course, had no such trouble.
He was drinking canned stuff though. Is that a good enough excuse?
Re: United Rugby Championship
Yip - he's a Messer having a bit of crack with it. Fair fcks to him.
But the diff between a decent pint of stout and a tin of stout is more pronounced than the diff between any of the 3 nitros (IMHO).
I'm sure he's pushing himself that I'm prepared to talk about quality pints if stout in a thread about Guinness at Ravenhill.

Only discovered recently that they've been getting 'pint' cans for decades and we poor nordies went back to 440ml cans. Parity of esteem, my asre!

From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

It’d be nice to know who we’re playing.
