Brentford Community Stadium

Post by eeyore »

I'll be in London on the weekend of 19/20 February and am considering going to LI game against Saracens at Brentford Community Stadium.

Have any UAFC members been to the ground? Can you recommend best part of the ground to watch a game? As an ex Terrace dwelling hallion for many years (now ensconced in the Western Balkans) I prefer a more "lively" atmosphere - does LI have such a group and which part of the ground do they tend to gather? Any knowledge where the LI hallions go for a pre or post match pint?

Any helpful advice is most welcome.

Cheers

Been to Griffin Park a bunch of times for the footy but not the new place.

There’s a link on Irish’s website to loads of pubs nearby.

I've been told LI only use two sides of the ground for games? The Bees do cheap pints in concourse bars up until 45 mins before kick off, so maybe LI do the same.
Plenty of boozers walking distance from the ground. Princess Tavern will be the closest, One over the Ait is a good Fullers pub with decent grub. The Royal Horse Guardsmans beside McDonalds does a good pint of Guinness, the landlord is a Cavan man and sound as a pound.

I live within walking distance of the stadium but have only been to one game so far (LI v Edinburgh). The end stands were shut and there seemed to be more noise coming from the north stand than the south.

Lots of pubs in the area.

The Express Tavern www.expresstavern.co.uk is the closest to the stadium and a good boozer.

If it is a good day The Steam Packet https://www.brunningandprice.co.uk/stea ... /homepage/ is a lovely spot by the river and also a popular place for the LI fans.

Happy to help with any other questions.

Dilemma - Kofi says to go to the Express Tavern and ignore all other advice.

Mikerob has also recommended the Express Tavern, but if you ignore that as "all other advice", you have to ignore Kofi's recommendation too as it's the same advice.

Where to now?
