This was before the final whistle today

I think I picked that one up. He had about a 50:50 chance of being correct.
Methody won the last final actually played in 2019, so in one way they were defending champions etc if you ignore the 2020 non played final.

Hopes looks a prospect and the scrum half McCracken has a fine pass. For Methody I thought McFarlane, the big centre Hanratty and open side Stevens stood out.

He was half cut (either that or a wee stroke) and slurring his words - definitely a few libations over lunch with the alickadoos in the President's lounge. Don't know what his excuse is the rest of the time mind.

Are you sure, or does he just make up the more obscure stuff too?

Well I don't have the 6th form timetable to verify, so yeah it could be made up.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

That's why he never made it past the BBC.

One of the best finals in recent years. Well done to both teams - they were very well prepared and played an excellent brand of rugby - at times you had to pinch yourself to realise this was in fact schoolboy rugby! A credit to their coaches
I’m sure we will see some of the players from both teams featuring in senior rugby. The Methody scrum half (David Armstrong?) in particular caught my eye - very quick to the breakdown and a nippy and accurate pass. Some very useful looking forwards on both sides too. The future does look bright!
Hope is not a strategy.

Well its Gonzaga v Blackrock this Sunday 2.4.2022 at 1pm (on Premier) so I presume we should support John Cooney's old school Gonzaga.

Sunday is the 3rd, but yes it starts at 1pm and is live on Premier Sports 1. Being played at the RDS. Blackrock are very warm favourites by all accounts.

Just the 69 titles for Blackrock  (None to date for Gonzaga)

The Ulster Schools Cup is fiercely competitive by comparison.

The 6 for Blackrock could hardly have been more prominent (nor could his shoulder pads which were straight out of Dynasty) - Ross Moloney’s cousin so they said.
