So, just in theory, if Marcell wanted to come back to Ulster, what would we say?

My guess is we'd play his plane fare and put him and hus family up in the Culloden for his quarentine.

Nope.

He could still get called up with injuries. Will get a chance to play for the Bulls vs B&I Lions and even if he doesn't then 2023 rwc will be his aim.

If that is going Pete Tong then france it will be but if he cant make the Boks squad after a year at home then value will diminish significantly

He should be in the squad on talent/performances alone....& with injuries you never know if there is a call up.
There’ll be no return to UR. I don’t have begrudge his return to SA, but it was handled poorly, and left a bit of a bad taste which is a shame as his performance levels till then was immense. Post announcement things dropped a few levels.
If someone announced a hard carrying durable saffer 8 for UR I wouldn’t be complaining.

Hasn't made the 46 man squad for the Rugby Championship. Wonder if anyone told him how highly he was rated by the Boks management before he signed for the Bulls.

His next hope may be the November internationals.

It's some squad if he's not in it.

Would he start ahead of conan if he was Irish? I'd say aye all day long.

Perhaps Rassie didn't think much of him walking out on his contract.

Marcell is one of 14 changes to the Saffer team for Saturday.

Clearly, the shame of letting Wales get so close last week was just too much!

6 new caps in the 23 for the game in Bloemfontein, imagine an international team trying different players in a test series ahead of the RWC.....

Springbok team to face Wales in Bloemfontein:
15 – Warrick Gelant, 14 – Kurt-Lee Arendse*, 13 – Jesse Kriel, 12 – Andre Esterhuizen, 11 – Aphelele Fassi, 10 – Handre Pollard (captain), 9 – Jaden Hendrikse, 8 – Evan Roos*, 7 – Pieter-Steph du Toit, 6 – Marcell Coetzee, 5 – Marvin Orie, 4 – Eben Etzebeth, 3 – Trevor Nyakane, 2 – Joseph Dweba, 1 – Thomas du Toit

Replacements:
16 – Malcolm Marx, 17 – Ntuthuko Mchunu*, 18 – Vincent Koch, 19 – Ruan Nortje*, 20 – Rynhardt Elstadt, 21 – Deon Fourie*, 22 – Grant Williams*, 23 – Damian Willemse

*Uncapped

What are the chances of seeing Elton de Janties in a 10 saffers shirt ever again?
