Old alma mater coach died, great scrum coach. Roly Meates RIP.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Trevor Francis (1st £1m transfer) and Chris Bart Williams both getting a free transfer off this mortal coil.

Two very likeable players

Sad day in Sheffield, Nottingham and farther afield.

Really sad news. He was responsible for some iconic music with The Band (e.g. The Weight) and some excellent solo and collaborative work (e.g. Somewhere Down The Crazy River) which I for one will never tire of listening to! A real loss indeed!
Hope is not a strategy.

A legend in broadcasting. Parky didn't interview people. He had an interesting conversation with them.

A week late but still possibly worthy of a mention is the passing of Mr Yevgeny Prigozhin who died in a plane crash travelling to his home town St Petersburg from Moscow on 23.8.2023, which, Lest We Forget, was officially DAY 6059. He was just 62 and is buried in Porokhovskoye Cemetery beside his Dad.

Also a bit late .. Bernie Marsden, Whitesnake guitarist who wrote or cowrote most of their hits.

Top bloke too. Once saw him perform in Ahoghill!

In 2015, Buffett spoke at the University of Miami's graduation ceremony and received an honorary doctorate in music. Wearing flip flops and aviator sunglasses, he told graduates, from a line in his song "The Pascagoula Run", that "it's time to see the world, time to kiss a girl, and time to cross the wild meridian."
