O'Connor is 2025. Was McGrath not just a short term signing?

McDonald comes back from Connacht to fight it out with McKee for 3rd choice scrum half. You imagine Saunderson and Wilson go onto development contracts to replace French and O’Sullivan. Same with McNabney and McLoughlin for Jones. 10 has to be from outside the province. Plenty of bodies around centre and back three, Moxham to be fit again next season as well. Some savings made there.
Who are the other three? There are apparently eleven going.
Expiring 2024
Eric O’Sullivan, James McCormick, Tom O’Toole, Marty Moore, Ben Griffin, Greg Jones, Matthew Rea, Reuben Crothers, Dave Shanahan, Michael McDonald, Billy Burns, James Hume, Luke Marshall, Ben Carson
Unknown Contract End
Cameron Doak, George Saunderson, James French, Scott Wilson, Charlie Irvine, Joe Hopes, Marcus Rea, Dave Ewers, Sean Reffell, Lorcan McLoughlin, James McNabney, James Humphreys, Will Addison, Rory Telfer
Twitter was saying Ewers is going?

Re: Contract Situation
Ewers would be a natural given the number of potential back row players -- may have been signed to allow some to fill out and get seasoned to both the training and speed necessary for the PRO game. Like wise Jones, those with potential already look better bets than Jones and the Reas may also have only a season (or two) before the door opens.
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist
Re: Contract Situation
I wouldn’t equate Ewers with Jones in any way, shape or form.
Would have been odd for him to come over on a one year deal and he was put up before the season ticket holders at the forum recently.
We’re a bit light on European Cup winners so the Twitter talk is likely horlix.

Re: Contract Situation
McGrath was short term, Griffen was released early from his contract around November time.

Re: Contract Situation
O’Connor going, supposedly - retiring afaik
Re: Contract Situation
That's because their 1st and 2nd choice are Ireland internationals.
NUCIFORA IS A BELLEND
Re: Contract Situation
Greg Jones better not be going! I hear he's great with the academy guys at training.

Re: Contract Situation
That’s certainly a factor, although he was preferred at times to one or t’other iirc.
In the interests of balance, it’s only fair to Shanners to recognise that Burns being pretty limited off the tee has not helped his cause.
Equally, it’d be nice to get to the point where our third choice 9 is, or can be, trusted to start.

No Leinster players want to come north or to Munster so we are going to be lighter next year than this obviously. Players who have turned both provinces down are H Bryne, Frawley, Pendergast, Penny, Deegan and Connors.

Re: Contract Situation
And understandably so King. If you have international aspirations coming to UR is the equivalent of being sent to a Siberian punishment gulag or being made Secretary Of State for NI...
Exterminate all rational thought
