Leinster Rugby Head Coach Leo Cullen has issued an injury update ahead of Saturday’s BKT United Rugby Championship Round 17 match against Ulster in Kingspan Stadium

Tommy O’Brien came through the game at the weekend with no issues after his return from a hamstring injury.

James Ryan is expected to return to full training this week ahead of the game against Ulster this weekend.

Hugo Keenan is expected to return to full training this week ahead of the game against Ulster this weekend.

Will Connors is expected to return to full training this week having been a late withdrawal from the team to play Ospreys at the weekend as a precaution.

Garry Ringrose will continue to be assessed this week for a shoulder injury before a final decision is made on his involvement against Ulster.

Liam Turner picked up an arm injury last week at training and will not be available for selection this week.

Lee Barron picked up a shoulder injury in South Africa and had a procedure last week which will rule him out for the remainder of the season.

There are no further updates on: Alex Soroka (foot).

Reading some of the posts on Babbling Brook. It should a 20+ victory for Leinster says one poster. Another poster says that even if they send up a B team
it should be enough to get the points.

Tom O'Toole and Sean Reffell's availability for selection will be assessed through the week.

Club captain, Iain Henderson, had toe surgery yesterday. He is now expected to be sidelined for approximately three months.

James Hume (knee) also had surgery yesterday and he will enter a period of rehab for the coming months.

Luke Marshall (concussion) and Rob Baloucoune (hamstring) suffered recent injuries in training and are unavailable for selection this week.

They join Marty Moore, Jake Flannery, Ben Moxham and Callum Reid on the list of players also currently unavailable.

OK so looking at the injury report, similar 23 to last week with maybe TOT / Reffell featuring.

Could be a critical blow losing Hendy rest of the season. On the plus side no Ireland tour for him so he might be fit for start of next season

Not hard to see 6 - 10 (Ulster, Embra, Benetton, Connacht, Lions) all losing this week, so a win for us would be absolutely massive.

I mean, it's hard to argue with that. A win would be season saving for us but I don't think it's likely. 2 bonus points would be a great result.

Anyone still not understanding why we signed a right wing?

Love to see Murphy back the youngsters over the old hands this week. Sheridan needs to start, I'd be tempted to put him at 6 alongside timoney and McCann.

EOS, Herring, TOT, AOC, Treadwell, Sheridan, McCann, timoney, cooney, burns, stockdale, big stu, Addison, mcilroy, lowry.
Stewart, Warwick, Wilson, izzy, crothers, ewers, doak, wee Stu.

Could easily throw izzy at 6 and start Sheridan instead of AOC, but reckon Murphy might see that as a bit too risky. Would get the crowd going though.

Bookies can't separate the sides at present although that may well change when the teams are announced

Books seem to think it may be leinster front line reserves I think that could well be Cullens call , the second string front 8 with the first choice forwards on the bench to play 15 -20 minutes with last weeks backline starting and the like of Ringrose etc on the bench.

Ulster side the same as last week

Both sides want and need the win
