Two refugees picked up by Garda having come across the border from Norn Iron were told they would be returned to Newry, but they're demanding to be sent to Ruanda instead.

There is a region in Uganda called Buganda where they speak a language called Luganda. Slightly off topic but interesting. I don't think they drink Um BongoDave wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 11:56 amI think you're spelling has been ruaned!Cap'n Grumpy wrote:I hear the row between UK and Ireland about returning refugees has turned nasty already.

I heard that Emma Little-Pengelly, (Deputy or Joint First Minister - whatever you want to call her) enjoyed seeing the Aurora Borealis a couple of nights ago.
She asked Michelle O'Neil if she had seen "The Northern Light"s, but apparently Michelle had only seen "The North of Lights"

I honestly tried today with an open mind to watch Armagh v Donegal. Maybe it wasn’t typical (?) but why anyone would even think of spending £300 odd million on a stadium for this boring nonsense ( it was a bit like watching end to end basketball, you score, we score) is beyond me. If anyone in Treasury was watching today, kiss any “GB money” goodbye ……if it was ever a thought.
Individual ball handling and kicking skills and penalty kick taking top notch mind you!

Not many who would allow their balls to be felt or kicked without doing something about it.

I guess this thread will be hot for the next six weeks.
Looks like a bad start for the Tories with Rishi Sunak not having the wit to come in out of the rain

First time in my life that I’ve not lived in a Tory safe seat.

Come on Justin. You have to vote to keep somebody out. It's the Ulster Way.
Not too many who can say they DO live in a Tory safe seat at the moment.
Jeremy *unt is supposedly in danger. Definitely worth staying up for that.

I recommend the Slugger OToole website for local political coverage.

Look behind pseudonyms and alleged “ objectivity “
I know this is for you in particular is a big ask, …….but at least try

I recommend Prof John Curtice. If he says you're going to lose you might as well save your deposit.Bobbievee wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 8:40 pmYou are surprisingly easily led.HwoodMike2umate wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2024 4:26 pm I recommend the Slugger OToole website for local political coverage.

My brother knows Karl Marx
He met him eating mushrooms in the people's park
He said, "What do you think about my manifesto?"
"I like your manifesto, put it to the test-o"
Took it straight down to meet the anarchist party
I met a groovy guy, he was arty-farty
He said, "I know a little Latin: anicus anicae"
Said, "I don't know what it means," he said, "Neither do I"
Eat natural foods, bathe twice daily
Fill your nostrils up with gravy
Don't drink tea and don't drink coffee
Cover your chin in Yorkshire toffee
