RE LHP would guess that a contract renewal for O'Sullivan will be announced shortly. In terms of other signings, Murphy in an interview this week, that may be limited business yet to be announced otherwise working within the current squad who will be around next season.
I just don't buy the poverty schtick, we had a budget from the IRFU for Kitshoff, we can buy property, we're losing a number of our more expensive IQ players (Burns, Addison, Marshall) and both of our NIQs.

This is a conscious decision and I just don't get it, in who's interest is it for us to flirt with the bottom of the table and have our youngsters get battered and disillusioned hurting any chance of us providing more players to the international side.
The sale of the uninhabited drug house would bring in £ 1/2M and go a long way to securing a decent LHP and frankly I fail to understand why UR set out to purchase several houses at the cost of some £1.5m at a time when finances must have been turning bad…

Our new CEO equated an extra so many season ticket holders =so many new contracts in what may have been conceived as a strategy to sell more season tickets ..

It will be a long slow fix ….

This is a fantastic list - thanks for doing it.
Quick question - have you any information as to what academy players get included in the senior squad - eg. you have included Cameron Doak Charlie Irvine, Hopes and Telfer - but not Boal and Boyd...

Not familiar with every player in the academy, if you could provide me with those I am missing, which position and any contract information? I could add them.

SUFTUM_19 wrote: Thu May 16, 2024 1:08 am Having seen the confirmed departures, aside from 10, prop is my biggest concern. Only O’Sullivan, Warwick and Reid on LH and O’Toole, Moore and Wilson on TH, and Reid and Moore have been injured all season.

Wonder if Kyle McCall would fancy a return? Played primarily LH for us, but has been playing TH more recently with Hinch, he’s better than French, McGrath and Griffin, knows the pro game and with a full pre season in him could potentially be the best realistic option out there for a squad filler, especially as he covers both side of the scrum.
Had thought the same thing myself. One of our own and we could do a lot worse for 3rd/4th choice. Also could potentially be an option on either side.

There are a number of players In that list that I would get rid off in the next 6 months ( e.g Carson, Sexton, Moxham etc). We are not a charity.

We might be ok at lock, if injuries are reasonably kind but OH is a really big worry.

Anybody know why BB is heading to Munster?

Selling an asset to pay for a liability that will last 1 or 2 years and then be worthless is not good business practice.

To be honest I actually think we're OK at lock. I think both the academy guys in that position have a good shot of making the grade, so don't mind being one short, with a chance they'll see game time.

Unfortunately there is a lack of beef at lock -- lots of mobility-- no beef and the front row aren't the biggest either thus the scrum set piece is under pressure and our defence walks backwards.
Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist
