Twiglet- The gate receipts for games at Ravenhill goes to UR and not the IRFU albeit one is owned by the other. I don't however know if this is the case with the other provinces.

It might help if UR published their accounts which of course they do except that they contain no detail. Some might say this isn't our business but then other businesses have to don't they?

You're confusing ownership with financial support. It is quite possible that your financial support is all that keeps the bot afloat, but even if it does you still wouldn't own it.

Nevertheless - as the source of the money they'd be very foolish to p*ss you off by taking your favourite beer off the menu.

Andy White says that the salaries are paid for by IRFU. Cockatrice says that Ulster Branch keeps all gate receipts. At about £100,000 per match that's a tidy sum to keep. Nice business if you can get it ! Reid is probably laughing all the way to the bank !

With 'Freedom of information' perhaps there should be more detailed accounts available.

Twiglet- Even with all the gate receipts I understand that we still require a hand out from IRFU to tune of £2M per annum to get by.

One only needs look at the exclusive BofI sponsorship deal compared with what Munster & Leinster have announced to see we are the poor cousins.

One view I have heard expressed on the 'exclusive' deal is that it is little more than spin for a lack of real interest. UR were quick to highlight the amount of the BofI deal which now looks insignificant in the light of others but I note that figures aren't being quoted for the Kukri deal.

I wonder how much it is really worth albeit I accept they have included extended coverage of the local game which in itself is the bread and butter and obviously welcomed.

As for FOI interesting idea given the lack of detail ie none that is included in the accounts. I am sure some might say it isn't our business but on the other hand it might be nice to see just what the sums are.

IMHO too many commercial aspects of UR are kept in house.

Does it really matter how pays their wages?
They should be getting paid feck all for their performances lately.
And that includes players, coaches, management!
The only people in Ulster doing a good job are the groundsmen!
I would say the fans too, but Ravenhill is getting quieter every night. Maybe because the team gave us nothing to cheer about...
