Fantastic to see Trimble get what he deserves. So happy for him after years of being left out.
Haha PJ.

Re: Irel;and v France
Well, I didn't want to be too cocksure before or during the match but hey, we are the feckin' champions my friends.
Trimble would have got MOTM had I been giving it but he was ineligible. Suppose it would be hard to begrudge the ould lad mind you.
Great mentions for Ulstermen by Joe, I suspect it should now be obvious that if you're good enough, he'll select you. Can't say fairer than that, well done Joe.
Right, I'm off to start a "diminishing Coach" thread for Joe, all downhill from hear, ask Deccie. Mind you I'm sure JOe will acknowledge the great work Deccie had done with the squad in his time.
Shaggy just told Angry that he was the MOTM - Got that right Shaggy.

NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Trimble getting some good praise on RTE. Nice to see - perhaps the shirt will be his to loose
Re: Irel;and v France
Trimby was my MOTM, I was delighted to see him getting that praise from Horgan & O'Gara & Schmidt is clearly a big fan. Thrilled for him.
Really heartened to hear that Joe is watching our boys closely, going to be some battle for that right wing spot lol.

C'mon now Baggy... you knew we were going to win just as much as I did!
I had a feeling we would do it!
Well done Ireland!
Although it pains me to say it... well done Joe S. This was a huge game in so many ways and the coaches and the whole Irish squad deserves all the accolades they are going to receive (yes... that would include POM!)

We were bloody lucky tonight. A team with more smarts would have milked a peno at the last scrum.
But what was it they said after the first big turnover - fan f***in tastic!

Trimby has been great this 6N and plays better with every game. Did he drop a high ball all tournament? Not a flier, but fast enough; hard as nails; and better footwork and passing skills than many realize. Full marks for Dave "Now Better than Average" Kearney too. They both stepped up and were not outplayed in any of the games.davejohnston wrote:Trimble getting some good praise on RTE. Nice to see - perhaps the shirt will be his to loose
(But we are chronically short of gas in midfield.)

Don't worry we got the Quiff to cover that!Spiffsson wrote:(But we are chronically short of gas in midfield.)
Still galls me that he got to finish the match. However, I suppose I will get over it
Re: Irel;and v France
Andy was singled out by Joe, Shaggy and ROG. His best ever game in Green. Took a few balls at full pelt and looked comfortable. Only wish he had dummied and went in himself instead of trying to give BOD a wee try in his last international
Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.

Joe bigged-up Ulster at least twice in post-match interviews.

Fantastic performance and result. That's the kind of match we normally let slip. Great to see the trust that Joe puts in all his players - he uses the bench in a way that Deccie was always afraid to do. Great too to see the Ulster lads blossoming under the new management. All bodes well for the world cup next year.
Re: Irel;and v France
Joe also mentioned Henshaw and Cave as being in the mix for the 13 shirt
