Ron'n once confided in me that he had once been in Billy Smart's Circus, but he hadn't a big red nose and clown shoes. Like me he was a Lion tamer.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Love the POM article posted by Baggy.
He's just the sort of attritiional figure head the Lions will need.
So pleased Warbuton isn't starting for the opposite reason.
He's about as convincing as Tim Hermans semi final fist pump used to be.
I don't think the All Blacks particularly respect him but they are wary of the Irish you can be sure of that.
AWJ is an interesting selection.
Talking to people in the know who say he is one of the most adept in mauling situations.
That's got me thinking that the Lions haven't particularly mauled after the success of doing it in the first couple of games.
Even the last ditch lineout opportunities v the blues and the chiefs they didn't do it which amazed all.
If anything they have been playing phase play (badly) which I'm wondering if it's a smokescreen?
It does seem a logical conclusion given the sh sides aren't overly used to it and Gatland has stated he won't be showing his full hand in the warm ups.
I have no issue with AWJ Bazza. He is one of those Welsh players one can generally rely on to not take a backward step against any opposition. Makes sense to me to hold Itoje in reserve. Kruis is and has been the best second row performer in Europe this season.
I think Gattie has got the whole selection close to spot on. I'd have preferred if Payne was in the team but he just has not done enough to demand it so feck it.
It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.
