Irish granny perhaps? Just on a 2 year and labeled a project because he's so young and unproven?by bangorboy » Thu Jun 21, 2012 5:19 pm
How can he be a project player on. A 2 year deal ?
Wise words.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:Maybe he's nominated as their project but they aren't going to commit to three years?
I don't think he'll be a project player, the Springboks already had him in their extended training squad and he's been touted as a future springbok captain. He's highly rated over there which explains why they're going mental at his decision to come to Munster. A lot of people think he should've been capped ahead of Potgeither this week.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:After the way Borlase turned out maybe they want to see what they've got?fuzzylogic wrote: Irish granny perhaps? Seriously, Munsters scouting hasn't been great. Maybe he's nominated as their project but they aren't going to commit to three years?
Indeed and it really is the first time.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:First time for everything cables!cables wrote:Wise words.LastKnightoftheproms wrote:Maybe he's nominated as their project but they aren't going to commit to three years?
I think that the point is, if it ain't working out, the club can lose him.. whereas if it looks like he has something about him they can extend - I'm pretty sure that is how Diack was contracted..bangorboy wrote:How can he be a project player on. A 2 year deal ?
I still have high hopes that Diack can turn into the player he promised to be. His form towards the end of last season was showing signs of returning to what he produced in his first season. Perhaps if Wilson makes it onto the Irish squad and Robbie get more starts he might surprise us all.ColinM wrote:Or just a way of getting another foreigner in.
Or maybe Munster have the option to extend by a year.
Diack was touted as a future springbok too, and he only turned out a squad player for Ulster
I think Robbies form improvedwhen he realised he wasn't going to make his fortune out of selling cheese boards made from wine barrels and that UR were actually paying him to play rugby.Scranner wrote:I still have high hopes that Diack can turn into the player he promised to be. TBH would have thought UR would be rather drunk off as outside business interests should be a no-no while in contract ( save for promotional/endorsements etc ).
